Great restoration! All processes are very well filmed. I involuntarily compare it with my restoration and realize that in many ways the course of my thoughts is similar to the course of thoughts of the author of this video) After all, I saw this film after I published my own restoration of a kitchen cleaver.

I hate to be "that person", I really do because it's your video and you can do whatever you please on your video on your channel. However, you were one of the few restoration channels that didn't do all the "fancy" transitions and different camera angles every 2.5 seconds and I greatly appreciated that. The multiple changes is angles so rapidly, and "fancy" transitions and edits give me anxiety for some reason 😓. Not telling you what to do, but I don't think you'll lose your audience by nixing the "fancy" edits and transitions. Either way great restoration! 😊

Hi... A little spoiled by this maintenance of the old chopper. The handle was salvageable, it was enough to harden, with a special chemical and there would be more of the original. Not a philosophy to make new ... But overall it came out OK. PS. Let's save the antiques...

Beautiful handle for a sucky looking blade
@oculusangelicus89784 ай бұрын
Leave that cleaver with me for two days , and I'll have it sharp enough to shave with. You need to use Japanese Water stones of a minimum of 2000 grit just to get the steel to the point where you can put a proper edge on it. The blade wasn't sharp enough to be used on Tomatoes but the test of a cleaver is NOT vegetables, but MEAT and it should be sharp enough to leave no trace that it was cut by a cleaver. After cutting, you should be able to still see all of the individual fibers of the muscle tissue, when most cleavers aren't sharp enough but just leave a mess of the muscle fibers, like they were more squished apart than cut. All the blades in my house are THAT sharp and I maintain them that way, nothing is nicer than to be able to cut through everything you need to cook or otherwise prepare for meals than with a blade that is so sharp, that it cuts without any real effort. Any Chef will want his blades all that sharp and pay good money to have them that way. This is why Chef grade kitchen knives are always the single most important investment a Chef makes, and touching a chef's blades without his permission is tantamount to declaring war, "Touch my blades and you'll draw back a stump!" Thousands of dollars can be spent on top quality blades, the very best blades from Solingen Germany or some of the finest blade smiths out of Japan are most often what is desired by most professional cooks.
