@@SammyandTommy Yours is my favourite. The quality of filming, editing and music has improved immensely. Eight years ago I watched Sam & Audrey take a budget trip, and slept in a repurposed prison (Audrey thought the prison chef was still working there). Taking Nagi of Mekong, is a huge upgrade, with the guide, buffet, and your accommodations. Having drone footage, also really allows you to show the beauty of the area. Excellent job of explaining the border crossing process. You are inspiring many people to follow your footsteps.

In 2010 I flew to Huay Xai from Vientiane and travelled by buses to Luang Prabang. Mainly, those little 18 seater commuter buses where they cram in 30 people. Heaps of fun though. It took me a couple of weeks, stopping over in towns and villages on the way. I travelled over the far north, along the Chinese border in some places. Very remote in many places but absolutely drop dead gorgeous. I was living in Laos at the time.

The river boat looks great . I was in Luang Prabang about 20 years ago and booked a hiking tour through the jungle.it was pretty tough going but fantastic , we never saw anyone the whole day until we reached the village where we was staying . That was the first time that the village had seen Europeans. We stayed the night and was up quite early and as I stepped out side there was a group ok kids sitting there waiting to see this funny white man . Great experience the only draw back were we got covered In leaches going through the jungle .

Hi Sammy & Tommy & Mom (Jackie) and Dad (Tom)..., Excellent video and information, especially about food and drink... * The Mekong Delta and River and small villages... bring back (a lot of memories). Riding in small boats and lying on the floor covered... brought back some exciting memories, including the small villages and trying our best ( Lt. Col. Carlos Hathcock "White Feather" USMC and I..., MOS 03-17 ) to go around the villages and hope the dogs don't start barking, made a little or significant problem... on our missions... I miss Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Bangkok ( R & R ), and Thailand... I enjoyed this video; it brought back many good and bad memories... So good...; I watched the video twice... Fill out the form, hand it to the friendly immigration guy/girl and you'll get a 30day tourist visa. You can also extend your visa at the immigration office in Vientiane.

Correctly, the number should be "eleven" (Thai: สิบเอ็ด; RTGS: sip et ), as the province was named after its eleven ancient gates built for its eleven vassal states. In ancient times, the number "eleven" was written "๑๐๑" (101) and the provincial name was written accordingly. Later, people took "๑๐๑" to mean 'one hundred and one' and have since then called it "Roi Et".[4]

I lived in Laos 2007-2015, my wife 2003-2015. Luang Prabang used to be our long weekend get away. Fly up from Vientiane on a Friday, return on Sunday evening. My first trip to Luang Prabang was in 2003 when I was visiting my wife who was managing a development aid programme. LPB has become the hub of Lao tourism and has always been charming for a quick get away. It was a lot more undeveloped in those days, with much less tourists. My wife and I would fly up a few times a year but my favourite place in Laos is Luang Namtha province in the north on the Chinese border. Kind of like what Luang Prabang used to be 15-20 years ago.

7 million Lao people in Laos but the majority live in Thailand. Lao people living in Thailand call themselves Thai Issan and about 20 million of them.
How come no-one seems to be wearing masks anywhere?

@@SammyandTommy from a lot of the comments on the video I think it would be a good idea to let people know when this was filmed. It's very misleading currently.
