When the sellingpoint for a theme park is "luxury" You know it is more about hype than rides. I live in México City and every summer go to Vallarta. For the last 4 years asking everytime "is it open yet?". Originally acces to the parks (of the three planned parks one is partially opened) was only for people having a Vidanta vacation membership (time share condos) which are very expensive. For the cost of a vacation there, Even without paying a membership, I could go to almost any theme park in US or Europe for world class rollercoasters. Will have to wait for prices and packages.

When I hear “luxury theme park” I think Discovery Cove vibes. Strong emphasis on guest service and the resort feel, all-inclusive, with reservations required to keep crowds down.

The park looks incredible, but it leaves such a sour taste in my mouth. Vidanta has been neck-deep in controversy for years. They’ve been accused of multiple human rights violations and some pretty nasty ecocide. And “luxury theme park”, mixed with the fact that this video only shows gringos having fun and locals only as servers and employees, screams “we want to displace and price out locals and just target rich white people”. I’m sure the park will be out of this world, but it also looks like something straight out of a dystopian movie.

@koreyhu25 күн бұрын
@user-qz2ld3vt2d I agree outside of lech coaster and a few others, they seem like great family thrill coasters. Punchy but not intense enough to be an adults only type thing. Most of them have small height restrictions aswell making them more accessible to different ages

@parks.atelier6 күн бұрын
@bryantoliveira2813 in a way, it's unfortunate that the potential best park in LatAm would be built only to address the US/European traveler rather than the local population... but yeah, theme parks are business, hope they don't end up like some of the UAE parks
@raulsanz6035 күн бұрын
Currently the park is partially open and the general admission cost is 45 dollars which is not a lot of money compared to other theme parks, also a theme park needs a lot of visitors to be profitable and the park will be located in Mexico where prices are more affordable. My guess is that the concept of luxury is in relation to the amenities that Vidanta will offer in case you stay in one of its hotels (swimming pools, golf course, transportation, etc.) and also the food since we can see in the video that the food shown looks like something you would find on a fancy restaurant rather than the typical fast food that you can find on a regular theme park. Also they are building a Cirque Du Soleil show arena like the one Vidanta has in Cancun which is not only a show but also a fancy meal.

@maxhagenauer245 күн бұрын
@@MissBliss818 There's a huge difference, theme parks, especially family oriented ones, are more about theming and atmosphere for their attractions and not as much thrill. Amusement parks don't have as many themed rides, or not as themed at least, but more thrilling overall. Like any Six Flags or Cedar Fair park is an amusement park while something like Disney is a theme park.
