Fantastic news Julian. I have an Eriba caravan, and just installed a 100W flexible panel and Victron solar system on it, with the possibility to add additional panels should I ever need to. I also fitted a motor mover system - something I can recommend if you want to make positioning the caravan an easy process! Best of luck with your new acquisition - I look forward to the new content!

What a great opportunity Julian. Speaking as one who went to more RV camping then tent camping 5 years ago, you are going to get allot more "comfortable" time to do what you want to do. Plus Snapper will stay warmer !

Very cool. I felt like a sell out of sorts when I got a trailer, as I was spending less time with a pack on my back and sleeping in a tent, but then I had the realization that it got the whole family out a lot more. That trailer is long gone but looking to get another one soon. Enjoy!

You might discover, it just isn't large enough, and trade it in for a bigger model. Plus you can always mount antennas & a bike rack on the rear bumper! Enjoy it, you guys deserve it!

Hey great news! If I can offer a small tip - make sure to have a tire shop look at the tires on the caravan. Often a weak link in older caravans that maybe have been sitting for long periods of time. New tires are inexpensive compared to a blowout many miles off-grid. Cheers on the new rig!

My trailer is set up for off grid camping and it is great to be able to get out out of the wind and to have warmth and light available during short winter days. My biggest power draw is the 12v@3.4A blower for my propane furnace. At 45 deg latitude solar panels mounted 25deg from horizontal and facing south are about optimal during the summer solstice, 65deg for the winter solstice. In my case 2x180w roof mounted rigid mono panels keep the batteries charged even in typical winter weather. It's not ideal but works for my lat. and long. and I don't need a generator except in the case of significant snow. I'm planning to add additional panels mounted vertically that can be adjusted 0-90deg and swept off in case of snow. Replacing incandescent bulbs with LEDs saved a surprising amount of energy. Know your loads and do the math but you can't have too much panel area. Cheers.

Nice unit man! One nice thing is that this could be your mobile base station and you could still deploy on your e-bike and use your existing setup for getting around in the bush. You don't have to decide on one or the other, the two work well together. Watch out for leaks though. Some units need to be patched up every couple of years.

Nice!... This is just another evolution to your channel and bug out gear! Now heat is what i would want in your area do you go $ or $$$$ Dickinson Marine, Newport Solid Fuel Heater, 00-NEWSF or the $60 dollar Chinese unit w remote control. Keep Warm as we all get older tents suck compared to insulated walls and water, heat, and a indoor latrine. LOL you can take the FaT Bike and the trailer just have to add a rack or in the cab bed or in the trailer of your vehicle?
