This man had the most Beautiful Voice ever, still missing him in 2024

Right? It's kinda strange to miss a guy I never met or saw preform live, but every time I listen to his music I miss him like a friend or family member who passed.

----------THIS is the period 69 & 70 that whatever he recorded usually outdid the original artist he covered. Enthusiasm, excitement and a load of pending energy can be heard in his voice. The On Stage 1970 Album totally set the bar for Elvis, as well as competing artists who were relegated to having to continue doing their own hits after elvis made these his own.

His voice was always in top shape. Never cracked or anything. Even after all those shows he did. Every recording of all his shows. Voice was in perfect condition!!!

When his health and interest allowed him to, Elvis had the greatest voice in popular music history but there are several recordings (and live shows - he could barely sing in most of the 1976 shows as he was suffering severe breathing problems, likely from a compressed diaphragm) where his voice cracks or he can't be bothered to reach the necessary notes - e.g. Sylvia, Padre, most of the Christmas recordings from 1971 etc. As an example, May 15th 1971, he simply couldn't be bothered to put any effort into reaching the notes on It Won't Seem Like Christmas (it's is well known he didn't want to record a Christmas album in May, especially with so many subpar songs and was in a mood throughout the sessions) - his performance is very poor by his standards, but then the same night, he recorded a one take genius version of Merry Christmas Baby, where he hit every single note - much more challenging notes than anything in It Won't Seem Like Christmas - effortlessly and with huge power, delivering one of his very best performances ever.

The I think you should listen to some 1975/1976 shows... I mean, Im a huge Elvis fan, but his health was terrible in 1975/1976. Although the man had the most incredible voice, we also should maintain some honesty here.

I love it when he adds a bit of flare in his singing, one it makes it more interesting and two it means he's having fun. Thanks for sharing this, it's a really fun song especially with the horns. My folks and I always go "Quack quack quack!" due to a audience member that would always do that when they preformed that song.

You’re not confusing this with August 7 right? Polk Salad Annie was filmed from August 10? Are you saying that they interjected Polk Salad Annie footage from August 10 in the August 7 rehearsal that they showed in the original that’s the way it is?

The reason Elvis was able to do what he did, the amount of shows he performed at Vegas, the rehearsals, the shows on tour, night after night flying to the next city right after a show then performing another show that night. Nobody has ever been able to come close to the number of shows or traveling schedule. I hate to admit it but the drugs are the reason he performed so much. The drugs gave us more of Elvis but then they took him from us much too early, it's a Sad, Sad, fact.

Hi, David! I think, by the year 1970, Elvis was mastering his live fierceful performances even with ballads such as Sweet Caroline. He had set foot at the Las Vegas Internatonal by the time the Eagle has landed at the moon.

David Elvis done a great job on that song . Did you know that he recorded another one of Neil diamond's songs from the Memphis sessions .it was called the grass want pay know mind . Also David there are rumors that the first rehearsal show's from 1969 .vip shows which had a lot of celebrity's .was filmed . David there's a book called solid gold Elvis that came out about 20 years ago . and in this book the author said and claimed the rehearsal show's where filmed

Elvis really made the song come to life. Sorry Neil D. I seem to recall reading that EP recorded this song because the first time that he agreed to record with Chips Moran at the American Sound Studio in Memphis, Neil D. was scheduled to record at the same time that EP was available to record. Neil D. said that he would relinquish his time to EP, if he would record one of his songs. Sweet Caroline was the song EP chose to record.
@ElvisistheMan_4 ай бұрын
No kidding? I always thought Elvis recorded it because he heard Neil’s version. I do know they were set to record at the same time tho. Neil’s version is too boring imo
@vicki60704 ай бұрын
@@ElvisistheMan_ In Sonny's book "Elvis: Still Taking Care of Business," he wrote "Chips made a gutsy spare-of-the-moment call." "F------- Neil Diamond." "Neil Diamond will just have to be postponed. Tell Elvis he's on (Diamond agreed to the postponement in exchange for getting Elvis to record one of his songs, 'And the Grass Won't Pay No Mind.')" In the book "Elvis and the Memphis Mafia," Marty L. said, "Then he pointed his finger at me and said, 'I want you to get me some songs." "I want everyone of you if you know somebody, to get me some songs." "Klein immediately got on the phone and called Neil Diamond. That's how Elvis got 'And the Grass Won't Pay No Mind,' which he recorded during the third stage of the sessions, in February [1969], along with 'Kentucky Rain.'" I say all that to say I guess I was wrong about the song. It appears that it was "And the Grass Won't Pay No Mind," that Elvis agreed to sing in exchange for taking Neil's time slot. I would've bet money that it was "Sweet Caroline," which Neil D. did not release until 5/69, according to Wiki.
