I, for one, don't think you needed to speak. That place spoke volumes in just the first minute. Breathtaking.

even the graffiti in the trains are in decay...

Cool stuff,I love abandoned places like this. Looking at the comments I see I'm not the only one who would enjoy some background information in the description. Where, when, anything. Come on throw us a bone! Still fun vid,thanks for sharing.

What a cool place. I thought they'd cleared out the trains but apparently not. Definitely a place to visit next time.

That was the best photographic subject. The roof of that building was a piece of art all on it's own. Wow!! Everything must have seemed like a big, fat juicy steak to a Rotweiller for you. I hope you can get some kind of trophy of reward for that video. Absolutely epic. :-) :-)

Istvántelek (Stephen's Plot) Main Workshop, Budapest, Hungary. It was one of the main workshops of MÁV, Hungary's state railway company, from the heyday of 19th century Austro-Hungarian Monarchy through the '60s. Since it was a steam workshop, it has fallen into disuse. Actually another hall in the vicinity is still in use for occasional motor coach and heritage steam loco repairs, so Istvántelek is not completely dead. As far as I know, some locos are now the property of the Transportation Museum here, but there is a lack of money, so they are just rotting there.

More like Fallout 4 than Final Fantasy 7. I'm still going on. Now I'm stoked to go look in my great grandfather's shed. I figure baby steps at first.

Truly abandoned and forgotten. Such a waste, especially from a historical point of view. The last time that train and carriages were used was probably during WW2.
@revsnowfox57985 жыл бұрын
Most likely most of the carriages and locos were used in the '50s or '60s. This is in Hungary.

Cool seeing all the trains but no sound... nothing? At least have some music or something. Makes it fascinating and boring at the same time.

Some cool remnants of amazing engineering. What I see is Tons and Tons of great scrap iron that could be retrieved from that place, and turned into new items.
@PreservationEnthusiast6 жыл бұрын
R Tex Yes, I would send in the cutting torch crews and break up all that old scrap in a short time ready for recycling.
