Thanks for this, I've been looking at both of these for myself recently. To me, the bracelet and case on the Tudor make it worth the extra money. The PRX case is just "flat" on top, whereas the Royal has some slight curves and angles. The Tudor looks like it's worth the extra money. The only thing I dislike is the Roman numerals. The bezel is weird but I could live with it. If the Royal just had bar or stick markers I'd buy one.

I’ve wanted the Royal for a long time, since it was exclusive to APAC. Went with the steel and gold Black Bay instead. Now the economy is crappy and I feel guilty and apprehensive buying another Tudor, despite their gorgeous presence. Going with PRX, wish me luck!

I own the PRX. The lume is literally useless. With a UV light and pitch black the hands will glow for 5 mins tops. Love it tho! That power reserve is really clutch. It gets grabbed more than most because of the fact when your in a hurry it'd always good to go

I have the S&G 38mm Royal and the PRX panda Chrono. I'll say that the Royal fit and finish and comfortability is superior but as the price suggest. The PRX Chrono quality is good for the money, especially with the Valjoux movement but isn't as good as the Royal

There no chance of the clasp coming undone on the Tudor unless you’re pinching it and pulling at it while you’re wearing it. It is safe as.. put your watch on a cushion when you take it off and you won’t have any bracelet wear. This is a common thing with diver bracelet clasps scratching the bracelet.

The bracelet/clasp criticism is definitely valid. Especially me being a complete sucker for comfort & the bracelet/strap aficionado that i am. But after a few back and forths with the watchmaker sizing my royals bracelet, giving me confused facial expressions due to my analysis, I quickly realized if the fold over clasp where reversed it would sit so much better on the wrist. Although it is a bit awkward at first latching the clasp in the opposite direction, it is a world of difference in comfort. Once the watchmaker sizing my bracelet realized what i was trying to do, he smiled & nodded his head with clarification. Now my only criticism is my wrist diameter being between sizes, half links would of been perfect. But that’s an issue i have with mostly my entire collection, unfortunately i just happen to have one of those wrist that lands direct center of two sizes. Great video & comparison! 👍🏻

The Tissot PRX most ppl.will tend to purchase it faster because of it's lower cost,good quality,looks & not as costly....! Now vs.the Tudor which looks executive & has the look of a watch a gentleman would wear.But it cost 3 times more than the Tissot PRX. But, at the end of the day it's ROLEX little Sister...which normally is hand made & has a very high standard in its Q.C. manufacturing.Long-term in mind humble opinion.... it can hold a better re-sale value many yrs.from now ?! than the Tissot PRX.P.S.I'm from one of the beautiful caribbean islands 🏝🇹🇹 & I really enjoyed your content & I urge you to keep Up the good work👏

Neither watches will appreciate in value but in general the Tudor would hold its value better and is the superior watch to the prx. I'm not a fan of the push in links in the prx and while the bracelet is comfortable at it's price point, it's no where as good as the Tudor with the screw in links and a better clamp over the butterfly clasp in the prx

I'm so glad you mentioned the Tudor Royal clasp centering issue for people with small wrists as that's been a huge issue for me since getting the Tudor Royal SG 41mm. My wrist is around 6.2/3" which basically means I have to wear the watch with all spare links removed, but because of the poor bracelet design and the lack of extra removable links on one side, it creats the exact issue you describe in the video, the clasp ends up sitting to the side and sticking out beyond the wrist making it a bit unconfortable to wear and causing a kink in the bracelet when wearing. I wish I'd have noticed this before I bought the watch but it's too late now. I'm trying to sort out the issue by finding someone who would be willing to remove 1 or 2 of the premenant links but not many people are willing to do that since it requires drilling into the bracelet and there's risk of damage. TLDR - The watch is amazing for people with medium sized wrists and bigger, for people witth small wrists (I'd say less than 7") the bracelet could cause some issues depending on how fussy you are so keep that in mind. I hope this little msg will help some potential buyers with small wrists and won't leave them in the position that I am in atm. :)

Oh man you described the laborous task I went through to get it to fit perfectly and it still didn’t. I think the solution is to have a butterfly clasp for both sides to meet in the middle which Tudor didn’t do. I had to live with the clasp off centered and wear the watch loose. Wasn’t ideal at all. I’m currently trying to find a person that has the right tools to make alterations to the bracelet by removing two permanent links from it. Here is a quick update on my Tudor Royal and the issue I’ve been having with it as mentioned earlier. I ended up taking the watch back to the Tudor AD where I bought it and explained to them the issue, I requested to have 2 permanent links broken out of the bracelet on the 6 o’clock side, they agreed to give it a go by sending it to Rolex and seeing what can be done. 2 months later I received the watch pretty much how I wanted it, the clasp now sits centred on my wrist and I no longer have the issue I described earlier. So if anyone is having the same issue as me just take your watch back to a Tudor AD and request to have the alteration done, also I didn’t have to pay anything for the alteration which is nice. Hope this info is useful for some of you.

Tudor royal looks like the omega constellation Manhattan from 1985 with president+blocky omega chimera bracelet and thunderbird bezel sans the claw, and dial like Rolex... Kinda strange and not the best combo tbh, kinda confusing identity...

I get this, it borrows dna from other watches and it isn’t original. I find it interesting that Tudor took a year to bring this over seas from Asia. Apparently it was a hit in Asian markets. Keeping in mind the omega constellation sells well in Asia too

Im not a huge fan of either but if i had to chose i would buy the PRX. At nearly 2k Tudor is powered by a simple non-cosc sellita and the sunburst dial with theese shiny markers looks cheap. Prx got matte textured dial which makes it classier.

Great video and comparison - you earned my subscription right away. I am owner of both watches and from my personal experience, the Tudor Royale looks and feels way more classy than the PRX. The PRX has been my favourite watch in my collections for quite sometime, because I like to feeling of the watch feeling like it’s worth the price. To this I can say that the Tudor Royal gives steep competition and is slowly overtaking the PRX as a favourite😅

I have four Tudors and three Tissot. I paid over $1800 on chronograph and pusher popped out. You buy cheap you get cheap. Tudor is on another level. I have the Pro, BB41, BBgmt opaline dial, and Pelagos 42 mm blue date dial. I still wear the Tissot PRX ice blue dial but change bracelet to a deluge. I have the gentleman. The chronograph is nice looking but I’m scared to wear it

Since I shopped both of these pretty hard (bought neither), I can appreciate the strengths of each. I love the dial on the automatic PRX... and i have the powermatic 80 in a different Tissot - and really appreciate that movement. But the flat case of the PRX wears large and remarkably 'clunky on my 7.25" wrist. I could not get it to lay down and wear comfortably. Whereas the Royal is a gateway to luxury watches. I understand the PRX attraction. But it's correctly positioned as an accessible sports watch with that integrated throwback design. The Royal has much finer finishing. Everything about the watch is better than the PRX for me except maybe the small, inelegant clasp. But the idea of comparing these watches doesn't really make sense to me. Each is for different people and different purposes. That said, I would have absolutely bought the PRX if it came out in 38mm instead of 35mm. And though I think the Royal has few equals at its price point, the clasp concerns will probably keep me out of that watch also.

Is there really that much of a comparison here? The Tudor swung and missed at lunch in the US market, probably because of the price point. Personally I hated my integrated bracelet watches in the 90s and won’t be buying either the PRC, the Royal, or the new CW twelve.

Both watches are excellent. Thanx for showing us these watches. For me, the Tudor Royal is a nicer watch. However, I also love the Tissot. Personally, I would shop around and buy a used Tissot PRX in quartz. I have seen them used for 300 dollars. I would buy the Tissot for its looks as an occasional dress watch. I wouldn't wear it all the time so grab and go quartz is how I would like this watch. Oh, I have an old Seiko Chronograph from the 90's that has a case and band like the Tissot. I don't like it because I can't read the dial with my bad eye site. Its a silver dial chrono with silver hands. I think the visibility would be good with the nice blue dials on both of these watches.

When I watch a versus video, the last thing I want to see is a weak, wishy-washy ending like this. In a versus video, there's supposed to be a winner otherwise there's no point in the comparison. I wanted to know your opinion on the matter but you weren't strong enough to have one. Yes, of course they're both great watches! One's made by Tissot (Swatch) and the other by Tudor (Rolex) but is the Tudor worth it? I don't think that it is, just like I don't think that that any dive watch priced above the Tissot Seastar 2000 Professional is worth it. Don't be afraid to tell us what you really think because a versus video without a winner is just clickbait. You said it yourself, they're both outstanding watches and if they're both outstanding and so close to each other, it's clear that the Tudor Royal isn't worth triple the price of the Tissot PRX Automatic. You said it, now own it!

Hey Larry, where did you end up on your search? I do a lot of shopping ... I'd say Tudor for what it is may be the most elegant choice at that price point. But I might also challenge you -- why do you need a swiss automatic? Would you consider something else? There are loads and loads of gorgeous watches under $2k.... and plenty of excellent watches under $1k. There are also pretty fancy quartz watches.
