I enjoyed this film, not as much as the first one, but I’d give it an 8/10. The problem is that (SPOILERS BELOW) Disney NEEDS to stop doing that whole, “Oh wow, this character who we thought was a good guy was evil the whole time!” thing. They do it in almost every single one of their films now, and it’s always obvious who it’s gonna be. I shouldn’t have to walk into every new Disney film and wonder which one of the characters is going to betray the protagonist

I seriously don't think this movie's villain really _counts_ as a "Twist Villain(TM)", considering how quickly she was revealed. What was it, like the halfway mark, give-or-take? They didn't try to keep us fooled all the way until the end, like with Hans and Bellweather. Honestly, I think Helen figured it out about as quickly as she plausibly could have, considering she doesn't have the advantage of knowing she's in a movie with only a certain number of potential suspects for who the villain might be.

I definitely knew the villain, but I still loved their motivation. It was pretty interesting seeing the dichotomy between that character and the one they are related to because they handle the same circumstances so differently. It really represented two extremes of how supers are seen in the Incredibles universe. Elastigirl was so frickin good in this movie too, it really gave her an emotional journey similar to what Mr. Incredible experienced in the first movie, but her own individual story rather than a repeat of his.

I think the difference is that in the first movie Helen didn't want to be out being a superhero she was happy being home whereas Bob WANTING to be out there fighting the good fight is another kettle of fish all together. You never really got the feeling that Helen didn't want to be there raising her kids. Bob not so much. So her aggravation/tension came from feeling like she was doing the family thing alone and Bob's comes from jealousy/envy. Similar but not the same.

Absolutely a worthy sequel. The action, the family dynamics, the animation, the intensity, it's all there and it's great. I think certain arcs among the family were done better in the first, but the stuff here is great and in some ways better. The predictability with the villain is the only real weak point of the film in my opinion, but topping Syndrome was beyond expectation. :P Final action sequence was great, but I kind of wanted more from it and feel the first delivered more. Incredibles 2 was worth the wait and I'd honestly be interested in seeing more from these characters. They pulled off a very and exciting sequel; something the world needs more of.

I saw the film last night and liked it a lot better, Jack-jack was definitely my favorite character in the film! I know some people were upset that they sort of reversed Mr. Incredible and Elastic-girl's roles, but their characters were still the same, especially personality wise in this one. Every decision they made actually made a lot of since in the film. I loved Edna's relationship with Jack-jack and Bob trying to help Violet. The scenes of him helping Dash with homework were very realistic and relatable and his reaction to Jack-Jack's powers is priceless because it's how I imagined him reacting to them when I saw the first one. Elastic Girl was badass, Bob and Frozone were awesome, and Violet was great! Violet had a lot more to do in this film and her character was relatable, definitely a step up from the sequel. Dash was a little underused, but he was funny and useful in every scene he was in! I liked the backstory of the villain because it was genuinely sad. Also loved the new superheroes, they were fun to watch and all had great powers! I love how this movie had badass women, but didn't shove it in your face, it was natural. They also had strong women without undermining the men because Frozone and Bob were still useful and badass with their powers. The new character Winn was also great and used a lot. He played a really important role, but Helen and Bob were the stars. Even though I wish Bob was fighting in his suit in more scenes, it was fun seeing him as a dad and stepping up to help the kids. In the last film, we saw Helen's relationship with the kids, but we didn't see Bob's relationship that much (except with Dash), so it was nice seeing him interact with Violet and Jack-jack more and still interacting with Dash, especially with that car. The opening scene was really clever and the fights in this movie were even more epic and cinematic in this film. It was so much fun to watch! There were also intelligent conversations between the characters which made it a great film for adults as well as kids. The animation was definitely better. I think I liked Syndrome better than this villain, but I thought her backstory was more sympathetic. Overall, it was a fantastic film and I enjoyed more than the first just for the action scenes and Jack-jack alone! I hope they make a third sequel where both Bob and Helen get to be superheroes and parents side by side instead of having one of them stay home. I also want them to use Violet and Dash equally and to explore and explain Jack-jack and his powers more. Personally, I'd love it if there were a series about them, then a spin off with Jack-jack grown up, struggling to control his many powers. The Incredibles films have been so great and I want more of the Parr family!

The only thing that bugged me about the beginning was that the interview they gave Tony was the exact same one they gave Kari the babysitter in the jack jack attack short, even down to the “i want to forget it” “don’t worry kid, you will”

Yeah, he had a line just before that one where he was talking about how, since he witnessed the incident, things are going to be weird on Friday night between him and Violet, after which I thought they could've gone with Dicker saying "I wouldn't worry about that" or something before the memory erasure, so the fact that they basically used the same exact two lines to cap it off instead was kind of jarring.

I went w my friends to see it and the point in the Pixar short where you’re supposed to start tearing up, my [slightly drunk] friend starting wheezing laughing. It was so loud that it caused the rest of the theater to start laughing along with her. So basically, my friend ruined/made the short for me and prolly most other people in our theater

Such a great film and a great review. Andre is my favorite movie reviewer on KZbin! One thing I forgot to mention in our review was how much I loved the Disney and Pixar title cards at the beginning of the movie were changed to match the aesthetic of The Incredibles. Those kinds of touches are a sign of how much love and attention is given to these movies.

SPOILERS DOWN BELOW I feel like Winston and Evelyn Deavor were kind of like Syndrome again but with two identities instead of one, where we have the super fan who loves supers and then they hate supers after something tragic happened to them involving supers...although I'll admit the motivations are different, ones kind of over compensating while the other is wanting a hole to be fill that was taken. Not saying that Evelyn was a bad villain, I think she was good, but Syndrome was just SO GREAT that it was going to be a hard follow up any way you slice it.

To me honeslty i thought Violet was so just not into it and over emotional and like more stubborn towards the movie. In the first movie she was alot more calmer and i know she got exposed to actually speaking her voice out but i thought it was a little too much in my opinion. It got to me a bit for when my aunt just said "Oh that's just teenagers" and laugh with my little brother while it basically mocks me being a teenager i am

This is how you do a sequel. No matter the years or time apart, as long as you remember the magic from the original without being too nostalgic, that's what a sequel is all about. #Incredibles2

1. They did a disclaimer at the beginning about being careful if you have epilepsy. 2. The animation was so realistic it was creepy. Like they are real people who look like cartoons. It was just so amazingly done. 3. Calling the villain Evil Endeavor is a little to on the nose. 4. The Edna part felt tacked on but was an amazing part of the movie. It was necessary to the plot, but the flow felt a little off. 5. This movie was basically perfect. 6. I related to the the Bob and Helen as parents so that was really cool how they made dealing with a newly identified superhero child is exactly how it would go down in real life. The storytelling in this movie was just spot on. 7. Nothing took too long. Nothing got drawn out. 8. Finally with as many characters as they added and what not this really could have been a jumbled mess. One thing the Justice League and Suicide Squad could have taken from this movie is they did not go into deep backstory for the new addition heroes. (I smell an Incredibles Universe brewing). They just introduced their powers and moved on. They even skipped the recruitment process, priceless. Give me s reason to see their origin movie vs basically spoiling the origin movie ending. Threeexamples: Void we know she has this awesome power, but she is super insecure. I want to see the origin movie to figure out why. Reflux: the dude is old with one helluva conspicuous super power. How did he fly under the radar all these years. Would love to know how he managed that. Crusher dude: he is black with a Russian accent. This is all I care about. They have made their money off of me for at least the next ten years if they bring these movies forward.

My beef with the movie was the villain and who it was. That particular person was overly well animated compared to the rest of characters, so that told me to pay special attention to them. Otherwise, I had super fun with it. I love how before the movie started the voice actors acknowledged the 14 years gap.

They should do an incredibles movie taking place in the past while they were in the prime. Doesn’t have to be incredibles 3 but like ham solo/ rogue one type of deal. It would be cool to see how the super got killed and so go into hiding or how mr incredible got so famous

Just watched it about 2 hours ago.One word.AMAZING!This movie really felt like that is was so connected the first incredibles. The animation looks beautiful and the fights scenes were so intense and suspenseful.Brad Bird really did want to put on a different take that you would usually see in a Pixar film. Some of the aspects you see throughout the movie give a more dark vibe. These moments really give me a different sense of what’s going throughout the plot.I felt like the 14 year wait was very worth it and this was a beautiful piece of art that will always stay in my heart.I feel like people don’t understand on how much time a director needs to craft and make a great sequel. Most sequels we see today are so lack luster and felt like the director even was trying to make good film.Thank you Brad Bird and the voice actors that created this exciting film that taught me some life lessons even if you are superhero or not.

Happy I- still-am-on- a - Incredibles High Tuesday! Great review from my favorite KZbinr Andre who is INCREDIBLE!!!! I couldn't wait to hear your exciting refreshing viewpoints on my beloved film. Thank you for your review! The Incredibles 2 lived up to my high expectations and more. Terrific, action-packed superhero sequel was worth the wait. I just hope I don't have to wait another 14 years for a follow-up. It did a great job of balancing comedy and drama. My inner 5-year-old was delighted while appealing to my adult sensibilities! I love the first film and this one was a great follow up. It is very funny ( jack-jack first arch-nemesis rocket raccoon from guardians lol favorite scene of the movie) , intense with great action sequences, (creepy heart-pounding fight between Elasticgirl and screensaver kept me on edge of my seat) and heartwarming themes of family, teamwork, courage, communication, and perseverance -- and how easy it is to be manipulated by the screens all around us . Everyone had strong performances and their moments to shine. I am glad Elastic girl was the focal point because it was engaging and interesting to watch her struggle being the mom/wife and superhero. The reverse roles storyline was solid and realistic. Loved the character development, diversity and jack jack who is the MVP of the movie!!! My only criticism would be unnecessary curse words which rare for a Disney-label film to be rated PG for mild language. I thought overall the movie was INCREDIBLE pun intended lol and extremely enjoyable!!! As always stay positive and keep smiling and have a wonderful week Incredible fans!!!! I see you in 2067 for Incredible 3 lol!!

Just saw the movie a few hours ago, and I couldn't agree with you more, Andre! This movie was a lot of fun, a lot of action, a lot of heart, and a lot of great animation all put on display at the same time! Honestly, my only real problem with this movie (like you said) was Screenslaver. Honestly, from a conceptual level, I think the character had a lot of potential to start out with. I mean, one of the underlying themes of this movie, other than family of course, is the idea of perception, and how it relates to the treatment of certain groups in society. While Deavor wants to use the idea of perception as a tool for good, using his telecommunication empire to reinstate the good name of supers in the public eye, Screenslaver wants to use it as a weapon, turning people's overreliance on technology, the media, and other forms of simulated reality to rob them of their free will. I honestly think that, given a few rewrites here or there, the character could've made a really awesome villain. Still, for what we did get, the character still had an awesome design, a unique power and fighting style, and a really epic monologue towards the middle of the film (I was glued to the edge of my seat!), so all in all, I don't have much to complain about

I really enjoyed the movie. However l noticed alot of similarities with the Incredibles 2 and Zootopia - 1. The suprise villian near the end of the movie. 2. The villian using some kind of mind control/drug to make a certain group look aggressive and dangerous to the general public (supers/predators animals). I too thought that the villian was also very predictable, underdeveloped, and her motive was not very strong. Syndrome was a much more fleshed out charater from the first movie. And you really had a clear understanding of his motives. At times you even sympathized with his point of view. But over all l enjoyed the movie. I hope they really do more with this franchise
