If you aren't following Takis Shelter, you really should find his channel and watch some of his videos. That will give you more hope because it will show you there are more good people. He has been saving dogs for about ten years and sold all his personal belongings to pay for the land and the food for the animals. He lived in a container for about 7 or 8 years till he built a house. He has about 450 dogs, a lot of cats, sheep, and goats that he has saved. Just this week they saved a pregnant cat that just had her kittens in the shelter and 2 turtles fron an area where the water has become very polluted from a factory. They re-homed them in a beautiful lake.

@@anndownsouth5070 I have no doubt that there are more great people like the Takis Shelter, that is a LOT of sacrifices to make for the sake of animals. It just so happened The Asher House came through on my news feed. It's nice to see people living my dream. That I never could've achieved. I was raised to think I was a useless human & would never be anything other than dirt. I'm afraid to watch any other animal rescues bcuz it makes me sick, sad & angry how people across the world treat children & animals. I DO NOT watch the news, too depressing. Getting near 60 now & most of my friends & husband's family have passed away. Never had children. So it's just my husband, me & probably the last 2 dogs we'll have rescued. We are having health issues also. Is there anyone out there that rescues seniors?

This is wonderful. Lee has so much to offer, how Asher House brings so many dogs back from the brink of health/mental disasters, his training philosophy, yes, Lee IS one of the best communicators with dogs I have seen! Training isn't telling a dog what to do, it is communicating what is needed and the dog CHOOSING to make the decision without force or negative human behavior. Encouraging adoption from shelters, the list seems endless!

I’m so happy to hear that you are reorganising the Asher House, I was worried that as you took in more dogs and expanded your facilities to help other animals you were becoming consumed by the impact this hectic pace was having on your life. No one expects you to do everything yourself, it would be good if videos were kept in playlists eg rescue missions, pack walks, moving out to be fostered etc. It’s good to hear of such a positive plan for the future of Asher House! After seeing this on several platforms, one thing that always accrues to me is how you seem almost apologetic or shy about your name followed by “world”. Lee, we understand you aren’t insinuating you are the focus of the world, just that your personal page will be about your daily life, so don’t be shy or apologetic. If I, or anyone else, were to share our daily life like you do, it would be a glimpse into our worlds too. So don’t worry that someone will misunderstand or think you arrogant. If they do, it’s their loss, not yours. Keep being the awesome you are! ❤

Because of how often he mentions negative thoughts about himself, I just wanted to be a voice of encouragement.

@@Thankful_Cathy Thank you Cathy. Lee deals with 100's of dogs & as I dog owner as well, it's SUPER hard & sad when they have to go to the RB. And it's probably extra sad for Lee not only loosing one, but all the atrocities he sees "behind the scenes" . Seems Lee is a VERY positive, sensitive person & once in awhile I can see the sadness in his face.

@@grdutchesspavlanovla938, agreed! I don’t know how he handles some of the in-person rescues he has done. I’d be so angry about how an animal had been treated and then the person lie about it or blame someone else, I’d want to do harm to them, and violence is not in my nature at all! I’m a former pet owner, both my girls (schnoodles) passed away recently. One in December and one in March. They were my babies and solace since my husband passed away 15 years ago. My heart says to run out and rescue but I want to visit family in WA and FL and don’t want to bring in a new love, just to have to board them. That would make me feel like I was abandoning them before they were comfortable and sure they wouldn’t be left behind again. If I knew I could take them with me, that would be different, but not all people are comfortable with having a new animal come into the home of their animals.

@@Thankful_Cathy sorry for your losses. 💔 I too lost a rescue in December & even though it was the shortest time I ever owned a dog, the strides she made from an abusive mill to becoming a beautiful happy dog. I think it hurt the absolute worst.😭. Still grieving 💔 My prayers to you 🙏❤️
