I’ve had mine for almost 2 years now and it’s my beach watch. Everything about this watch has been purpose built for the water. From the bezel action and visibility to the flat sapphire transition to the bezel. Awesome awesome awesome. Also will add I’m a hairy arm fella and no hair pulling ever on the bracelet. A note for those of you looking to get one, they recently announced a new version in Titanium! I’ll prob sell my SS and pick up that one! A very similar look and design to the County Comm diver, would love to have both....

What I like about my Vanuatu is that I bought the steel bezel when I purchased the watch and it's easy to switch them out. So, basically two different looks for the same watch. The bracelet definitely doesn't pull hairs and is very comfortable. It's chunky, certainly you know you are wearing a watch :-) but as a guy with an 8 1/4 inch wrist, it's perfectly proportioned for me. The only complaint is that they hardly make any !!!! I'm on a waiting list for their other model, Khuraburi, and have been for a long time. I don't get it, why? Helm, best microbrand for bigger wristed guys.

Yeah, Helm's are incredibly hard to get, all of them. But from networking with other Helm owners via the Facebook group, i've managed to amass 5 Helm watches in 8 months. 2 were preowned, the other 3 were from people giving up their place in the line to purchase. The Vanuatu has become a cornerstone in my collection. It's just such a solid, well made piece at a great price.

I enjoyed the review thanks and thanks to Mike for supplying the watch to review. I own two Helm watches a KHURABURI and a KOMODO. I think pricing and small batch offerings are two things that make Helm in demand. MIYOTA 9000 series might be a better fit because they offer date and no-date versions on some models. It would also help keep the pricing lower. I have plenty of SELLITA SW200 and MIYOTA 9000 movements. I've had a few issues with SELLITAS, but MIYOTA has been rock solid. Some folks aren't fans of the noisy rotor on the 9015s, but that's not an issue for me. Either movement is fine, but to keep the price a little lower for folks would be nice.

That's a great price for a certified diver. You can see some microbrands trying to charge $400+ for a non certified diver with the same movement. It's no wonder they're sold out at $275!! Only thing, though I normally like the colour matched date wheel, I think the white one would be better here! Still great though, and of course it's a matter of taste.

Wow. Threaded crowns are NOT required for high WR. There is a great article someplace on how Fortis watches routinely do NOT have threaded crowns but achieve 200m WR and above. Threaded crowns are for DIVERS and are a safety feature to prevent inadvertent activation and damage to the crown. That is an Engineer bracelet and its a rather nice one. Personally, my preferred bracelet style and Helm looks to have done it up right. Nice date movement too, snappy!

Got one last spring. I’ve been very happy with it overall. Sold my Pelagos because this filled that niche for me and used the funds for a Datejust 41. Really never was compelling enough for me to buy. But the bacelets with those beefy clasp are pretty nice, and one could order them with straight end links. (It's just too similar to my Sinn and Marathons) That does seem like a Engineer II style.
@richardsalinetrojr19573 жыл бұрын
It maybe funny to some but you can't imagine how happy I am to see them actually use a black date wheel to match the black dail.i think that makes the watch look that much better just by that simple little detail.idk though imo this looks like a very nice quality piece for the price.would like to see them maybe thin up the case a bit(maybe 12mm instead of the 14mm)but guess this is diver style watch so I could more than likely be able to live with it.lol Edit: I really need to stop watching all these videos about watches.never heard of this microbrand till yesterday but yet now I'm on the waiting list for the Helm Vanuatu.lmfao.starting to buy way too many watches and it's because of channels like this,Long Island Watch,The Urban Gentry and Teddy Baldassarre.lol

I managed to snag one of these a few months ago myself, just the Khuriburi to get and I will have all three. The waiting list system where they contact you is far more civilised than the clusterfeck that was ordering the Komodo, the only reason I managed to get this is because their initial sale crashed and they did their 2nd attempt before they stated they would so it was a happy accident I managed to get one. I only have scrawny 6 3/4" wrists and the dimensons of the Vanuatu seemed way too big but it actually looks fine on wrist.
