I made up some random lore about this: The “dead” sprunkis are living in a false reality of pain, others traumatised and others unphased. But, eventually, they find the discomfort fade away as they get used to the pain, the constant adrenaline and the others who were unphased stay unphased. They slowly find themselves even feeling comfort in the pain, getting used to it and it becomes a normal thing in their lives for a while. The missing person on Mr. Tree’s missing poster is eventually found and the sprunkis are suddenly brought into reality where they realise they were never real and their view and bodies change; the “dead” or severely injured sprunkis are somehow healed as their hallucinations and fake pain are gone. Few sprunkis experience no to little change, some are surprised and are in joy, and some hate it; suddenly, everything feels so dull, boring and even uncomfortable. Some long for the fear and pain they felt before, some even wanting to run away from this reality (for example, Mr. Fun Computer).
