This is not complete CDC .... but this is CDC from the source side where we assume two features 1. Once a department is created it cannot be changed 2. Dept_no in Source is set as Increment only. Nice simple explanations.

i am using variable in source qualifier to get only latest record,mapping variable you can use in the next run also it will keep the last max record in the repository

What if the existing record is updated for deptno 30 ... does this solves the problem . Only insertion of new records no updation . Only insertion that too new deptno > existing record ... not a good solution for cdc

why you have defined the variable in expression transformation and assigned the max of the deptno using sexMaxVariable . what is the necessity . Are you using any where this variable v_max_dept_no_to_variable

Good for delta load.... But for updated source records and also for new records can we make comparison between the last updated date column in a source table with the mapping date variable in informatica??? And also can we refresh persistent cache without deleting that cache file or is there any option for refreshing persistent cache??? Looking forward for response..... Thanks

appreciate that.can u also provide mapping for if i wanted to load all historical records into separate table instead of updating with end date for record in same table in scd type 2. meaning table should contain only with latest records and all old records should be maintained in history table. can we do in same mapping?? +Venkata Bonam yeah true. we can use lookup to check whether deptno is new or old (with changed non-key attributes).So we can use update strategy and we can write condition as iif(isnull(deptno),DD_INSERT,DD_UPDATE)) and connect to the target. So we can capture both changed and new deptno in this way. Note:- Important part is if data is changing then we cannot use filter on deptno otherwise we will lose changed data for that deptno so we should use filter on sysdate,sessiontimestamp, refresh_date etc

Good logic..But it captures only the Inserts..But CDC includes UPDATE also...That cannot be accomplished using this...can we do the update using mapping parameter?
