Simon Yates looks very strong, he could have easily passed chavez, and gained even more seconds on competition, but full marks to Chavez he deserved this win, obviously he had put a lot on road today and being in the breakaway is tough.

True but as you said. Only because he put more work in for the team. I'm sure if you reversed roles it would be similar. They both were amazing.

It's great to say teammates motivate each other and finish together; not fighting over position.

a little hairy there when Simon was chasing down Esteban, turns out he was too strong though, and he was never going to drag anyone up to his teammate.

Yates to claim GC and Chaves for stage win, yes that was the team plan

Fantastic riding by the Mitchelton-Scott riders. Rarely do you see this. So much for the fireworks Chris Froome promised on the slopes of Etna. Maybe there was too much bad air for him to breathe.

Surely his intermittent kidney failure had something to do with it.

Just the 5 grand tours for Froome; well done Yates. Chavez is also lovely too.

He did moved into top 10 on GC... so I would say he did pretty good on stage 6.... it’s just that the Mitchelton-Scott was SOO SOOOO strong. I also believe he said he “expected” battles, never said he was going to light it up.

What does ST stand for in the box for Yates' time in the stage results? I know it means equal, but what are the letters?

Great job Scott team!Is it better or worse for Froome to crack the top 10 but not gain any overall time?
@jaykan10026 жыл бұрын
He’s in top 10 GC now, would think that’s an improvement to before?? He was outside of GC after stage 5. Still, seeing the amount of high FTP monsters and strong TT guys, I don’t see Froome having much advantage (if any) to make it all the way to pink.

This Yates/ Chavez dynamic is going to be interesting. Who will they ride for????

Obviously Yates here at the Giro...will Chaves be tooling up for le Tour?
@hoomanpowered6 жыл бұрын
Adam Yates will be for the Tour. Chaves might go for Vuelta if Simon doesn't falter this Giro
@cammancuso6 жыл бұрын
Yates is the leader. Chaves will lose buckets of time in the TT and I don't see him being strong enough to go into it with that big of an advantage. Both Yates twins are superior in the TT and have been more consistent on the big race climbs. The Vuelta may be the race for Chaves, suits his riding style a bit more.
