I feel you since I am going through the same thing since November of 2021. My primary has dismissed me every time I speak up about my pain not getting better with the nerve and muscle relaxant medication prescribed. I have had tests that show a cyst in an ovary, appendix, and stomach issues, but nothing has yet to be resolved at this time. For this reason, amongst others that are private, I have changed to a different primary doctor. We know our bodies more than doctors let us believe. When you are off your game and are not convinced of the diagnosis, it is best to seek medical assistance from doctors that have much more passion in getting their patients better and not pushing patients to the side like we are not worth their time.

Very interesting. For 8 years I’ve had “gallbladder” discomfort and cramping. Within the 8 years I had a HIDA scan, ultrasound and bloodwork and all came back normal. I kept telling my Dr it feels swollen under my ribs pain raidiating to my back, couldn’t eat big meals, never felt good. Fast forward to last Thursday I ended up in the ER for an appendectomy. The surgeon said there is nothing wrong with my gallbladder. I wish my PCP had ordered a CT scan years ago, just to check my ovaries and appendix rather than shrug her shoulders. Would have saved me years of discomfort.

Thanks for sharing Niamh. I have ben going pain like this through for the past 15 years and am fed up being fobbed off at the hospital.i was in excruciating pain at the time of the month and thought itvwoykd stop when I went through the menopause. I thought wrong. I have lost count of the times I was curled up in bed in tears with this pain. My GP recently sent me to hospital as it was eventually mentioned that this recurring pain was in the appendix area. The hospital did bloods and came back and said it's not your appendix as your bloods are clear. They would not give me ct scan and like you said I was constipated!! Sent me home with paracetamol and movicol. A bloody joke. I have now got onto my GP to arrange a scan for me as I am convinced this is chronic appendicitis

Same, same... have been living this agony over 15 years. Have had so many scans and investigations, and the appendix never came up. At this stage, I'm convinced my pain relates to my appendix. I'm not giving up, though. I'm going to fake acute appendicitis if I need to to get this bloody thing taken out..

Thank you so much for your video. It is really helpful for people with a similar issue which is hard to diagnose. Can you share a follow up about how are you feeling now and has the pain come back. Thank you ❤️

That ovulation pain you’re describing is called Mittleschmerz and I’ve had that for years. When I had my appendix pain, it felt exactly like that!

I think doctors should listen to patients more. I know exactly what you mean that you don't want to keep going back because you feel you keep getting fobbed off because it happened to me. I was told it was nerves in the end (I'm calm and far from nervous) . I had it for 9 years but it I always had the vomiting and sometimes diarrhea with the pain, which was never felt on the right hand side. When I was 32 weeks pregnant I was admitted to hospital but they still couldn't find out what it was. After 6 days my waters broke and had to deliver baby with this pain ( he was breech as well and I think these days breech births are usually c section). I begged for a c section but was refused. The birth was complicated too as he got his leg stuck and had to be cut and have forceps. Afterwards I was still in pain and after about 10 days decided it was my appendix. They treated me with antibiotics as I was too weak for an op at the time and planned for a op in 6 months. I returned home and it happened twice more with both doctors ignoring what I was telling them. Eventually, after hubby getting angry they operated. My appendix had burst and luckily for me an abscess had formed which probably saved my life and my sons life. The surgeon told me I was lucky they operated in time. No its lucky my husband had to get angry for the doctors to listen to me that there was something seriously wrong!

What a crazy story. It's infuriating how they treat us, women especially, as if we were "drama Queens" making sh** up. I've been suffering for over 15 years trying to get to the bottom of it. I wish I had a hubby like yours.. 😢❤

What a story. Sorry you had to go through this. I'm glad you got a resolution after all those years. I'm typing this from Ireland and am having similar experience. My pain has been going on for 15 years, and nobody has suggested I may have chronic appendicitis. Nobody. After having all the scans and checks available out there with everything coming out clear, I am sure it is my appendix that's bothering me. My intuition has been telling me this from the start. My GP says they won't take my appendix out on request. So.. I have a solution. I will fake an acute appendicitis if I need to. I'm waiting for one last test (MRI), and if that comes out clear and they send me off again I will be putting my acting skills to test (always wanted to be an actress so may as well give it a go, lol). Wish me luck ❤

This has been happening to me. I am now having the full abdominal pain. I am so nauseous I can't eat anything. I am going to my doctor today and demanding hospital admittance. I know, for sure, that it is my appendix.

Went to the gynaecologist because many people kept asking if I had endometriosis. MRI of abdomen and upper abdomen revealed not only endometriosis in three locations (one of them a cyst on my right ovary) but a swollen appendix and a 1.5 cm of something in my appendix which is either fluid or mucin (mucin is another word for cancer cells!) I have all the symptoms of chronic appendicitis and was diagnosed with the condition by the gynaecologist! He referred me to a colorectal surgeon. My symptoms include bloating, low fever (sudden sweats and shivering), extreme fatigue, diarrhoea & constipation, bad taste in mouth, loss of appetite (either can’t eat or do eat and develop a stomach ache etc). All my chronic appendicitis symptoms appear to coincide with my period, hence why many could not diagnose it properly. And to think this all came to light because I have been searching for what keeps sucking my energy away and also what sets off my long neck and lower back pain! I suspect I have had this for at least a decade and may have had a few bouts of sepsis/inflammatory in the body! I am managing skin problems which I am beginning to believe it’s being caused by the chronic appendicitis interfering with my digestion! And incidentally, I have got from being able to eat 2 or 3 large portions of food to struggling with half a portion of food.
