Thanks for the post! My new favorite video! Takes me back to growing up in the late 70's and '80's when the "F" trains had the purple circular background. I used to always ride the "F" train from Ditmas Avenue to 71-Continental Aves for fun as a form of escaping my issues as a 10-year old. I miss the R46 F trains and to me, the R46 models are synonymous with "F" train. The R160's are not a good feel for the F line. The R32's done a better job on the F line than the R160's. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Hope to visit NYC again soon and hopefully, I will get to ride the R46 F train since my 2006 visit! Miss NYC and the New York subways. Oh yeah, RIP R42 's , you will be missed!

The memories of the F train. That was my train line for over 30 years. Grew up in Jackson heights and Flushing. If I ever visit NYC again, I will take a ride on the f train.

Ah, memories! The R46s look and sound almost exactly the same as when I used to take the F into Manhattan on Saturdays in the '70s and '80s - the seat colors, the same two tones before the doors closed; the only change is the use of LCD destination panels. Of course, back then the train used the old 53rd St. tunnel under the East River.
