I'm on my 3rd video...love every minute. Trying to figure out how I can incorporate into our Montessori uninterrupted work cycle, can't wait to try to implement next school year.

This is great. Just wondering how you keep others on task while you pull small groups?? How do verify they are doing what they're supposed to be doing?

How do you feel about graphic novels?

Graphic novels are a great way to engage readers! While we might not always want students working only with graphic novels, they are a great way to get students excited about a story.

Yes, it's all about student choice. Outside of independent reading time, I might give a nice suggestion of a chapter book if necessary, but during independent reading time, students can choose what book to read. You do want to be sure students have enough books to read during the entire allotted time. If they finish one book they need to have the next one by their side ready to read. No perusing the book bins for the next choice.
