যমুনা নদীর পানি বাড়ার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে সিরাজগঞ্জে দেখা দিয়েছে তীব্র ভাঙন। নদীগর্ভে বিলীন হয়ে গেছে চৌহালী এবং শাহজাদপুর উপজেলার বিভিন্ন এলাকার প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়সহ ঘরবাড়ি, ফসলি জমিসহ নানা স্থাপনা। হুমকির মুখে মাদ্রাসা এবং মসজিদসহ বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠান। পানি উন্নয়ন বোর্ড বলছে, ভাঙনরোধে জরুরি ভিত্তিতে জিও ব্যাগ ফেলা হচ্ছে।
