It is a political and economic measure in Pakistan. Rather than providing any sustainable solution to Pakistan's debt issues and playing diplomacy on making it a grant, instead, debt is covered by allowing ARAMCO here, to have a competitive market over here. The move seems to be a temporary relief because petrol was already detrimental and is now dependent upon Saudi Arabia, which will increase the import taxes and duties. If there are diplomatic talks on buying it at lessened rates, then it is useful otherwise, it will only be burden on economy.

Good point. I was wondering, and correct me if I am wrong, this seems a pure business move that benefits Saudi (and good for the Saudis to take this opportunity and make money). Fuel in Pakistan is going to be priced the same as it is at other petrol stations. Other than employment opportunities for Pakistanis who fill petrol in cars and petrol station managers (employment is always good), what benefit does it serve Pakistan on a macro level?

@saadiqbal820 As for the serving interest of Saudi Arabia, more with having income from Pakistan and some for Pakistan. It could stabilise the energy supply to Pakistan, but remember, the supply prices have money to pay. There can be foreign investment confidence vamped up with attracting foreign investment. But economic dimensions are also observed upon this. From mercantilist and Realist perspective, it could heighten Pakistan dependence on Saudi petrol which may potentially impact its economic and political sovereignty. Also jobs are created but with inequality as the profits will go to small amount of people and other people will be more experiencing meader wages with economic difficulties. One far thought, which is interconnected that Pakistan also discovered energy resources on its cost, so there can be potential bargaining too as Saudi market may get impacted from it, instead GCC market. If you remember recently Russian Deputy Prime Minister came, so he also came for this offshore deal
