Lowrance HDS Touch Review

A review of the Lowrance HDS Gen 2 Touch screen units. The HDS Gen 3 units have the same menu system so this will be helpful to anyone interested in the HDS Touch units.
The HDS9 Gen 2 is featured in the video but they are also available as the HDS7 and HDS12 screen sizes. The HDS9 and 12 Gen 2 and all HDS Gen 3 units have a video input option available.

I have two different Navionics cards, one for East and one for Midwest. If I put both cards in the unit at the same time, the source still says Lowrance and Navionics are the two options. How do I display both Navionics options and toggle between them?

If you have it set to Navionics it will display data from both cards. On older units I recommend just using the card you need because reading 2 will slow these things down a lot. Only have the card you need in the unit at the time.

Hi, can I have my HDS9 connect with my elite7 chirp finder and share data eg. Waypoints. If so what is the best way to do that ?

+Richard Hoekstra Sweet! I'm really looking forward to seeing the elite 9 and 12 To models. I did a comparison series between a elite 7 ti and hds7 gen 3. There is a playlist for it on my channel. You're right, you don't miss out on much at all with the TI units.

Yes it is. Only the non-touch HDS units require a StructureScan box

way to many things covered too fast to follow, just learning, terms are unfamiliar to me, am looking further how to start with the area your in, water and state and area your starting out from shore. thanks anyway
