@@osmaanqazikhan127 of course you can survive I switch every two years but I've owned all iPhones until the pixel 2, if I can do it you can to. The experience is great google services integration is flawless as you would expect some unexpected things that surprised me is how the google assistant screens calls for you in the background and if it's a robot call it'll never even ring on your end I think I've received like maybe 3 robo calls since I've owned the phone. Also Google's messaging app is way ahead of apples in my opinion the smart reply system is amazing you don't know how far it is until you use it and the messenger has its own version of imessage called RCS which at the moment is not encrypted end to end but it's in beta and will be rolling by the end of 2021, you can also schedule text messages (beta) to send at the exact time and date you want them to receive it this is expected to release in 2021 as well. I say if you want to do it go for it don't let them decide for you.

I think sound quality is over hyped at least for me. I use music either on my speakers or earphones. As long as it makes calls just fine and is loud enough on video calls on speakers I'm ok.

The louder sound with screenprotector > that's because the screenprotector you used is bigger than the phone. The sound is produced under the screen, the screen vibrates and the free end of the screen protector swings free in the air like an analog amplifier.

The chin that so many Android phones have (the 4a as well) is so freaking ugly and this one looks gorgeous! Going back and forth honestly, the 5 feels amazing to hold but the 4 XL has bigger display that I feel sometimes I want to use. If you use your phone for chatting most of the time go for the Pixel 5

Since the under the screen speaker utilizes a vibrating motor to vibrate the glass, it's possible the density of the glass due to the added screen protector is helping to project more sound from the device.

Very good review thank you. One thing that you should detail in your future camera review is the astrophotography mode which does not seem to give as good results as the 4XL (less sharp), a friend of mine noticed this on his Pixel 5 compared to his ex 4XL

The only Android phone that consistently have smooth animations and transitions is the pixel. I have never seen any other Android even at the flagship caliber that has such satisfying deliverance. The one plus has more abrupt transition because they are sped up. They simply does not appear as smooth, especially existing apps from landscape mode.

I think the reason the Pixel 5 sounds better and louder with the screen protector is because of the screen protector being an XL and causing to go past the bottom of the phone/bottom speaker. This makes the sound bounce off and sound louder and better. I think once you put a screen protector that doesn’t effect the bottom speaker it should give a more accurate result. I only say this because that’s what I do with my phone if I don’t have a speaker connected lol.

the sound quality with the screen protector is a result of the speaker literally being a vibrating drum against the screen so the gap inbetween a screen protector and the screen itself allows for a bigger sound stage with more kick

In the last month, I went from Pixel3A (broken screen) to Iphone12pro (returned due to poor focus close range and didn't care for the feel-in hand), to SamsungGalaxyS20 (returned due to poor focus at close range + picture colors too bright), then yesterday Pixel4a (excellent focus at close range, crisp and sharp/wonderful natural colors),......very happy to be "back". I would have considered the Pixel5 but was a little concerned with some screen gap and over-heating complaints.

I'm guessing the reason for the louder and fuller sound when using the P4XL screen protector is that there was a 1/2 inch of loose glass above the phone which would amplify the vibration from the screen. It effectively made for a larger tweeter surface. Oh, and the same glossy spot showed up on my Pixel 4a. I think it is actually a heat issue when the shiny spot appears in that odd location on the back of the phone.

The under display 🔊actually sucks? When 🤔 i covered the bottom 🔊the other sounded tinny & muffled? The 4a & 4a 5g are definitely better? Keeping my 4xl, face unlock, squeeze feature, Soli, I can take or leave it. Now, the 7oo.oo buck price plus tax is too much for the mid-range 765g. Should have been 550.00 to 600.00 MAX. Same camera sensors as the pixel2? No improvement there. Google chose a new road with the mid-range processer, it's not my cup of tea? Actually if there was a 5xl with the 865processer i would have considered it. I would have paid up for it. Very good review!

I didn't like the S20 specially the Exynos variant, I didn't try the FE to share my opinion, the Pixel 5 will be my choice because of day one software updates and the deep integration of Google apps in the OS, the camera, also smaller phones are easier to hold. I used to be a big phones fan but my preference changed over time

Do you know why the Pixel 4a an 4xl doesnt adapt the area with the Navigation in (for example) Instagram? With the Pixel 5 this area changes to white to match the upper part. For the 4a and 4xl the Navigation area is black and the upper part is the same as the Pixel 5?

It may have sounded better with your screen protector because it wasn't attached to the phone and is larger than the phone, so it was vibrating, essentially creating an additional resonator.

Is Northern Europe the only place where people use internet on their phones primarily through 4G, 3G etc. and not wifi? :D I can't believe anybody would use primarily wifi to access the internet, except for maybe on a tablet.
