The United Kingdom. Hi John I went to boarding school in Kurseong back in the mid 50s and started my journey in Calcutta with broad gauge steam railway then had a ferry crossing and back onto broad gauge to Siliguri where 200 students boarded the Toy Train up to our school just outside Kurseong, The journey from Cal in those days took two nights to reach Siliguri. We had our own "siding" at the school entrance where the train stopped to off load a very mischievous group of lads. I have been going back to India for my hols for about 50 years and always take the opportunity to ride the "old Toy train" when possible. When I introduce myself to the drivers and mention my old school I very often get a free ride. I am on Facebook and on the odd occasion when they discuss old school days I would very much appreciate if I may use a 30 second clip to show the Toy train in action to appreciate what a marvellous bit of British engineering still chugging along after all these years. I will of course give you credit and hopefully promote your excellent video. Thanks for bringing back fond memories with your wonderful video.

By the way Vivien Leigh of Gone With The Wind fame was born at St. Pauls School in Darjeeling and Jonna Lumley was born in British India same as me.!

@@augustsky6248 Yes indeed. The views from both Darjeeling station and from the splendid Batasa loop were amazing. From the loop It was possible to see the wind moving the snow around on the summit using a kind soul's veranda as a filming point. I visited Darjeeling three times but this visit afforded the best views. In addition, the views from the Mall behind The Windermere were excellent too. Altogether a great experience and I trust sincerely that I given the time to visit again even though my dear wife won't risk her digestion!

@@augustsky6248 I was aware of Joanna's link with the Gurkhas but not with Vivien Leigh's. What an experience for you too!
