Just some facts about the golden temple if anyone is interested to know. 1. The golden temple has 4 gates, in all directions, which signifies god is everywhere in every direction and everyone is welcome to gurudwara from anywhere 2. When you enter golden temple you walk DOWN the stairs, which means that to reach god you need to be humble and loose on the pride. 3. The langar system ( gurus community kitchen) designed by guru maharaj was to end world hunger and also to end inequality where a poor, rich, a low caste , high caste , hindu muslim everyone sits together to have meal. 4. The founding stone of the gurudwara was laid down by a muslim saint ( as a gesture of respect ) to make it a symbol that the gurudwara is welcoming everyone, and you dont have to be from a particular religion to visit. 5. All the cleaning, preparing of meals, collecting shoes is done by regular people who want to volunteer. This is called seva. And it helps in the spiritual journey to kill the evils like pride and ego. Hope reading this was helpful.

@Davud, donation receipt has the amount you paid. The 3 zeroes you see on the left, digit before those zeroes is 5 in gurumukhi(punjabi). The amount you paid probably 500-1000 people will eat. As everyone is helping in the kitchen is free service. So the amount would go towards the food raw material and the maintenance of the Guru premises.

Your donation is so generous ☺️ and will certainly feed the ones who might not otherwise have anything to eat plus buy food to keep the kitchen going. Donations are also said in prayers on your behalf.

I'm amazed with their spirit of volunteering to serve thousands and by looking at all their faces, they do it with such humble gesture. May God bless you abundantly for what you'll are doing - "The World's Largest Feeding Program". I guess if we walk-in to any Sikh Temples, they do the same and never send us back with empty stomach.

@@Davud_Akh @Davud Akhundzada Brother you donated 5000 why did you let the man put amount of donation 4000? It should be the exact amount you pay. Otherwise only 4000 is going for the actual donation as far as I can see on the cheque. You should've told the man right there about the amount if we were not clear about the thing. Anyway things can't be changed now though but I really loved watching your video and the fact that you found it important making a donation. Lots of love from ASSAM, INDIA. ❤️🙏 JAI HIND. You're a very kind soul. May god bless you.

I have been to langars in Delhi but have never been to the Golden Temple. It's a beautiful video. I deeply respect the generosity of the Sikh community. The way you serve people is exemplary.
