As an Indian born and raised outside of India, I feel saddened whenever I see Bollwood movies glamourising a lifestyle that is Western or European. The richness of Indian culture is being progresively desimated and this is a tragedy. The guilty 'Acting' community will get their accolades, stardom, and crore, but leave India poorer. People used to look up to India in the ancient times. Foreigners used to study in Nalanda university. I remember ancient Chinese called India “civilized” and “center of knowledge”. Scientists and mathematicians of the islamic golden age admired our work. Greeks and Romans also used to look up to us. Good old times. Anglo-Saxons and other Westerners are the reason that South Asians face discrimination worldwide. They ruined our image by portraying us as animal f*ckers, street sh*tters, unhygienic (India needs to work on hygiene, I admit, but man often it is over exaggerated), savages, r*pists, etc. West butchered our reputation. We think South Asians face discrimination because of skin color, but that is not the case. When you are brown, people think you are from South Asia, and South Asia has a bad image.

Firstly, I just genuinely wanted to say thank you, because I'm honestly sick of the misportrayal of India (and really most of the East) by the West. As an Indian who lives in US, I face this misportrayal whether it is from reading news, or talking to others nearly every day. Wrote this in a previous episode and just wanted to restate: As you mentioned, one of the reasons for the misportrayal (besides obvious western bias) is that we are often very critical of ourselves. I think this point cannot be stressed enough. The West has the same problems just as bad, or even worse, but they hide their problems, resorting to point out everything bad with the East instead of their own problems. For example, did you know that in many American cities, the local governments hire engineers to design benches and sidewalks to be so un comfortable that the poor/homeless won't stay there? Why don't they, instead of hiding their poverty, acknoledge it and spend the same money that was used on uncomfortable benches to actually help their poor?
