The problem with India is its vast population, which leads to numerous challenges. In terms of space research, India is as good as NASA and has excelled in weapons, rockets, and warplane manufacturing, either independently or in collaboration with countries like Israel and Russia. However, progress is uneven, largely due to excessive political intervention, rampant bribery in government offices, and a system where the rich and powerful can commit heinous crimes and escape punishment using their authority, wealth, and influence. Meanwhile, the poorest and underprivileged face severe punishments, such as beatings and custodial deaths, even for minor, unintentional offenses. Until the supremacy of the rich and powerful is curtailed, India will remain a developing country. The current ruling party, the BJP, has been accused of promoting a fascist, Hindu nationalist agenda, discriminating against and harassing people of other religions. Additionally, there has been an increase in crimes against women and severe caste and communal conflicts. I don't see these prevailing social evils ending soon, but only when these issues are resolved can India truly become a developed country. It's a pity that thousands of years ago, India was the wealthiest, most civilized, and most educated country in the world. However, the British Empire looted trillions of dollars worth of money, resources, and jewels from India.
