So many KZbinrs mispronounce these things, and it's honestly understandable, because I can't think of a good reference. Geography Now does a lot of research for place names, so that probably works, but names of leaders are harder. And, of course, there are often multiple pronunciations; in the US, people argue about how to pronounce Nevada and Oregon all the time. (The locals will unanimously yell at you for pronouncing Maryland the intuitive way, though… meh-reh-lind… 🤔)

This is great, however I feel some of these stories, for example India and Myanmar, deserve their own video!... otherwise it's no different than watching CNN or Reuters 15 minutes. I know this is TLDR, but go a bit more in depth like you did for the Portugal coronavirus video or the Chinese billionaire disappearances - a 9 minute video instead of just saying "China billionaire go poof". "In Russia Nawaynee protest" What!??... The ability to explain a complex story quickly is what makes this channel stand out! Not shortening a long news text, but the research, background, quick facts... Show that you understand the whole story and not what you read from yesterdays front pages.

@@TLDRnewsGLOBAL Also I wanted to ask: why so many channels? Considering your current size, wouldn't one channel be enough, and you could just create playlists (like other big news agencies) and thumbnail distinctions (dark blue for EU, green for UK)? In my opinion it's too confusing as a viewer. (Unless each channel is run by a completely different team from that continent).... And btw your TLDR News UK channel is still called TLDR News on YT. Hey, You might want to take a look at the ongoing protests in Istanbul/Turkey continuing for nearly a month. Students in Bogazici University (the most prestigious uni in the country) began protesting the non-elected appointed Rector of the uni by Erdogan government. Since then, It is becoming more and more obvious that the government is AGAINST the civil right of LGBTI people and even the minister of interior tweeted about protests while calling LGBTI people as "deviants". (Later, Twitter marked his tweet as a sensitive content yet the tweet is still available) There were allegations on the appointed-rector (Melih Bulu) such as: -His PhD thesis was more than 60% plagiarism. (There are proofs published by many scholars) -He has no background or career in the uni besides being a Masters student in the 90's. -He was inadequate for such a position since there are more qualified professors in the uni -He had close ties with the government and Erdogan (He was a candidate MP to the governing party AKP yet he was not elected) on 01/02/21 (yesterday) approximately 159 students were detained and today (02/02/21) the numbers are increasing. Government is insanely against the LGBTI rights and they are not hindering their hate speech and propaganda against the LGBTI community especially on the media. Although there were no harm done by the protestors to anyone nor any vandalism occured, the government labeled the protesters as "terrorists" and the government's spokesperson accused students of "questioning the authority of the government". Students organized an art exhibition inside of their Campus and more than 300 art collections were donated, yet the government accused of students with "Blasphemy against islam" and again, detained the ones who organized such an event. They were sent to the prison and are still being held under inhumane conditions. Twitter campaing #AşağıBakmayacağız (We will not Look Down) reached over 1.2 Million tweets worldwide and still ongoing. It was on the top of the list in twitter yesterday. --Students only want an elected rector not someone who was appointed due to his close ties to the goverment. --They want the release of their friends who were detained during the protests. Thats it. Easy and simple requests yet the government keeps ignoring them. I wanted to be as simple as possible I hope you might want to consider this. I enjoy your quality content.

The Farmers who went to Red Fort were led by a ruling govt Agent Provocateurs namely Deep Sidhu, an actor & Lakha Sidhana, a gangster. Lakha has even participated in booth capturing aside from usual murders, extortion, etc. The Farmers led by Union Leaders took their rallies in govt designated paths. The leaders discredited these agents two months ago. These infiltrators managed to gather enough support from hot-blooded youth & stormed the Red Fort. Red Fort is a high-security area & is protected by paramilitary & commandos on Republic & Independence Days. This Republic Day there were only a handful of cops present who didn't intervene. When some gangsters started damaging property & started climbing the Red Fort the Delhi police showed up to clear the area & then it all turned violent. The agent provocateurs were filmed running away b4 the police arrived.

I was enjoying your videos and following the global affairs updates....but when it came to my country I realized how ill (or less) informed you are and spreading the misinformation from selected media houses. You mentioned 40 farmers unions protesting in India and that makes an eye-catching story but did you know that there are thousands of such unions:) Why the protests are only from the rich farmers of 2 states while other 27 states in India are not protesting (except a few where the opposition parties are protesting and not farmers). This is just a very simplified example (advise you to read the farm laws that these so-called farmers are protesting and then decide for yourself..something that the likes of Greta and Rihana have no clue of...but that's paid for anyway). So to conclude I am actually wondering if I should believe your take on other countries' analysis which I do not know much about but now think that you are being biased (or sorry - ill-informed) there also. Not criticizing but putting my opinion because I really like your channel.

I would like to complain that you keep referring to Navalny as ‘Nalvany’. This inability to take a step back and learn how to properly pronounce his name is a form of racism. www.independent.co.uk/voices/yewande-biala-love-island-lucie-donlan-b1792717.html Yewande Biala puts this point across brilliantly in an article for The Independent. I myself experience this lack of compassion/ courtesy and often get my name shortened to shag or I’ll be given names like Shirley given to me at work. But my name helps me to express who I am and to display my culture. Thus, as a long subscriber with TLDR News across all your channels, I am deeply saddened at the covert racism displayed in this video. Navalny is one of the easier non-English names to pronounce so it is unacceptable for this racism to have occurred. Sorry TLDR News but I am very upset, News channels like the BBC and ITV always make an effort to properly pronounce non-English names, nearly all TV presenters do so. So I think with TLDR’s size now the same effort should be made. Please don’t get me wrong I love TLDR and your presenters and I find them both entertaining and engaging. We are very lucky to have a free service like this on KZbin. So thank you! Shagufta from Liverpool 😊

I like you guys, and you genuinely do a lot of good reporting, but damn, you need to hire somebody to check spelling and pronunciation for you. Such a way to ruin the appearance of credibility leaving those errors in...
