Most of the floods in Pakistan are due to the melting of the glaciers on the mountains, and the rivers certainly do contribute to the floods, but it is worse to just stop some of the rivers from flowing. The lack of water in Ravi has only made the lack of water resources issue in Pakistan even worse than before. It's okay if the Indians are stopping the water from Ravi (the Indus Water Treaty gave India the control of Ravi, Sutlej and Beas), but don't make it seem as that is benefiting Pakistan at least

My ancestors have worshipped Ravi from ages.. even though there are no banks left for rituals as there are multiple dams built but still we appreciate this government for completing the project and stopping the free flowing water to Pakistan .. we live near by the border and we say not even a single drop should go to them.. I think you have to do more research The government stopped the water because in Pakistan Ravi river water does not matter its water was westing there and whole Pakistan gets much more water from Sindhu , jhelum,satajal etc And now Ravi river water will be used by Punjab, Hariyana farmers The government minister doesn't take any dissision without consultation

@@RVK31 are you from Pathankot? If not then please come down here and see whats the real reason.. the Shahpur Kandi dam project got partially completed where they have completed the dam construction hence the water is stopped .. earlier there was no infrastructure to stop the water ..

Great this dam can also act as a great defence for us if ever they again invade we can release tons of water and literally bring floods in there country .... These rivers can actually replace Hindu kush mountains as our permanent defence walls . We should build these dams along all the rivers do hell with Indus water treaty .
