Kohli confirmed this during his man of the match interview that he received the message from the dressing room about batting deep at the same pace i.e. around 80-85 strike rate, and holding up one end of the wicket. This is my personal criticism and is no way disregarding the work that you put in to your craft. I am starting to feel that your world cup coverage is turning more and more as a 'reply to haters' campaign instead of the enjoyment of the sheer brilliance that is on display. i think its a genuine reaction. what most people are saying is about how kohli played post 45 over mark. i too have no issue with his approach until 44-45 overs. but he should have atleast tried to hit few boundaries after that which he didnt. i have never seen kohli playing like that atleast in the final overs. he didnt even show the intent even in the 49th over. that indicates he was indeed playing for his 49th hundred. this was a very uncharacteristic kohli

people don't see a few major points in this 1. shreyas iyer played much slower compared to kohli, but then he picked up shamsi and jansen in a few overs and it looked he was playing run a ball (to the people who saw the score on google), he took risk and got our showing the nature of wicket 2. rohit played with a SR of almost 200 because it was in the powerplay meaning field restrictions, so rohit was free to play 3. jadeja and sky are lower order batsmen it's their job to play risky shots were india a few 10-15 runs short ?? in my opinion, yes was kohli playing a selfish knock ?? no he wasn't, plus after scoring 100 he hardly played 1 ball does it matter anyways ?? not really because we won the game, people (even me) were talking about dew factor, but our bowlers sent half of the SA squad in pavillion before dew even kicked in

Nothing against Kohli, but Surya and Jadega was also playing in the same pitch. The ball was really gripping when Keshav Maharaj was bowling, the partnership between Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli was outstanding. The problem lies in the last 5 overs, as a Kohli fan I'm really happy for his century, but not with the way it came, he was literally taking singles in the last few overs, yes ball was difficult to hit, I agree but man he's Kohli and he's played 100 balls, he could've shown some intent there. He's a legend, GOAT no deniel but some arguments are not always wrong 100%, this is one of them.
