India luxury market boom: What does it mean for the country? - BBC News

Күн бұрын

Gucci, Balenciaga, and Louis Vuitton are among brands which have opened stores in Indian tycoon Mukesh Ambani's new Mumbai mall.
It comes as India’s luxury market booms and firms are seeking to profit from strong economic growth and a rapid rise in the number of millionaires in the country.
But the boom in this market also coincides with flattening consumption across the broader population and worries of growing inequality in Asia's third largest economy.

Every country has poverty, some have more and some have less. Poverty is rapidly increasing in countries like UK, etc. Countries like India on the hand are doing wonders in this direction. India is currently the fastest major economy and if they are able to sustain this momentum for at least 5 years, then we will see money getting into the hands of poors and increased consumption. We shouldn’t target a massive country like India with inequality crap since other countries like US and UK are also facing the challenge of inequality. The situation of UK is the worst in all of the Europe. In next 10 years, I don’t see UK as a developed economy anymore. The gulf between rich and poor is increasing there rapidly. It’s become a hub for money laundering and investment spot for fraudsters. 😂😂

Thats a very good question, to answer that - Many Indians are already moving back - And India is a huge country with very large population so there will always be many who make more money in the West for the same work that they do as compared to in India !! As the video says , still there is lot of lower middle class people but there is highly rich people as well !! And also there is a trend in India where if a guy moves and works in London or New York he is considered a successful person !! 😂😂 But that will change after few decades !!
@namespacestd131

probably because India is 'improving' day by day and by comparison, the west is already developed. Most western countries have a lawful society, a stable economy, relatively 'open' and 'tolerant' population and more opportunities with 'comparatively' high pay. While in India, there are opportunities but the competition is pretty tough. India will eventually reach the top, but it will take some time. Many people don't want to wait that long and simply prefer venturing for better opportunities outside.

Taxes are sky high, petrol is much more expensive than in India, and people are struggling to live. In India, the economy is booming, and the middle class can afford luxury cars. What is BBC's issue? White person complex? Or Colonizer complex? In the UK, there is no concept of microfamily as 5-6 people live in a home to reduce high rent. After Brexit, everything is expensive. Just like that. there is no poor getting poorer and rich getting richer, may be in some afican country or in Iraq and syria, but not in any other nation .

BBC and its usual tactics. BBC you have expertise in creating controversy to create viewership. You also have the expertise on how to present a positive news in a negative way. USA, UK and EU has housing crisis due to illegal immigration and due to capitalism. We also have the same. We also get thousands of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh every month.
