Malacca strait is an international strait and indians cannot simply block chinese navy ships in international water ways. Indians can only attempt this as a last resort in all out war But china also has multiple bases in countries around india , africa and east asia .

At any point in time, two subs will be undergoing repairs and maintenance, 4 will be near shores...2 around Lakshwadweep and 2 around Andaman, 4 in south china sea, 2 in Bay of Bengal and 2 in Arabian Sea...1 each with 2 aircraft carriers (3rd AC would be undergoing maintenance).

What business does India have in the South China Sea? India has to have robust defence against potential attacks. That doesn't mean going to the South China Sea militarily. India and China, BRICS Members, should trust each other. They should trade openly for the benefit of their nations.
