It is already in progress and currently affecting 1 to 2% people globally and is awaiting to turn to climate chaos in not so distant future (within next 2 decades when global temperature hits 1.5°c) and that % will shoot up to 50%. It's not about Delhi alone- it's about other states like Punjab. Delhi has a massive thriving middle class- so they pay a huge amount of taxes, and free electricity etc serve as fiscal stimulus for them- increasing their spending and boosting the economy. But Kejriwal is literally saying to states- give me votes and I'll giving you things for free. That's not how it should be. You can see the condition of Punjab. It worked in Delhi, and it WILL, but in other states with smaller middle classes, it won't work.

Sir we have 3 Crore+ orphan children in India and majority of them are not able to get a good future. I believe that we need more quality people than quantity people and that can be done by changing the education system of our country and making basic life needs like education, healthcare, character building, ethical and moral values teaching, skill development training, vocational education, etc more affordable so that everyone gets equal opportunity instead of providing opportunity only for those who are privileged.

We should look into the population from an employment perspective.. In near future most jobs will be automated and controlled by AI or robots. Hence in my opinion decline in population should not be a worry. Also we have to look at earth's limited resources. In most of the developed states of india population is already balanced. But I think, there should be population controll bill in backward states like bihar, uttar pradesh, bengal so that per capita income of this state can also increase ☹️

It is very tough to implement Population control bill at state level. How will you track domicile state of parents what ways will you disincentivize couples having more than the mandated number of offsprings, it is not simple to regulate inter-state migration and many couples have different domicile states between husband and wife. At national level you can say that the policy applies for all who hold 'Indian citizenship'. So an effective population control bill can and must be for the whole nation. Either way the states which have more or less balanced population will not get affected much by 2 children per mother rule as they already have an average below 2. Or in a case where this fails at one end we may see Population control/stabilization in states with high growth (UP, Bihar) but on the other a population decline in states that are already below the replacement rate in avg fertility. A solution to his is encourage inter-state migration, simple..more people from UP, Bihar should be made to migrate to states with low TFR like Bengal, Gujarat, Tamil, Kerala etc. to balance out population levels all across the nation.

Aakash, do you think we have sufficient resources for all the existing population? I agree with the fact that the population is not exploding. But, don't you think that it has already exploded? Humanity is using nature 1.8x faster than our planet’s biocapacity can regenerate. 50 years ago, people were worried that India's population may cross 1B. Now, we are already sitting at 1.3B. Can't we see the climate changes around us? Overpopulation is a serious issue. The last thing we need is these types of videos. I know politicians are using Overpopulation as an excuse for their failure, but that doesn't mean that it is not real. Producing more for the Economy is the worst argument that I've ever come across. Humans are not machines whose production should be done just because our factories need more labor. I don't think that the power of nation depends on its population. China's concern about demographic imbalance can easily be conquered by opening borders for the young population and using automation in the workplace. As far as Elon musk is considered, I don't think we should listen to a businessman whose business is to build the demand for the next planet. 200 years before, the world population was 1B. I don't think the major problem at that time was underpopulation.

I worked in a government hospital and had peaceful community women coming for 12th child in a gynec ward. When I asked her to consult family planning ward(as included in government mentioned guidelines), she said its all allah's den(deed-blessings) Any country with significant peaceful population, expect all the riots and violent events. It is statistically not possible. But the rise in population in Bengal is not related to higher birth rate but due to huge exodus from neighbouring states UP and Bihar. Too many Biharis and Bhaiyas in my area. Their number exceeds Bengalis. They come in flocks every year which increases the overall population.

My predecessors had 7 to 9 children. In earlier times they were even more. But due to modern healthcare the survival rate is higher compared to old times. However in recent years couples are producing / giving birth to 2 children. Its rare now that newly weds are producing more than 2. Plus the fertility rate is becoming lower and lower on top of that. So the population is not accelerating anymore, in fact going forward both fertility and birth rate it will be declining at accelerating rate. On other hands: higher expenses & unwillingness are additional reasons which will be part of decline.
