Let me provide a simple example: India is buying 31 MQ-9B drones from the U.S., with each drone costing around ₹2,700 crore-a deal totaling approximately $3 billion. But is it worth investing in these drones? While they may feature cutting-edge technology, just how advanced are they? The MQ-9 drones were originally introduced in 2002, and although they've received upgrades and are in demand, other drones in 2024 are even more advanced, such as the Northrop Grumman RQ-4 Global Hawk and the Lockheed Martin SR-72. Are Indians expecting that the U.S. will provide India with the latest and most advanced military technology? The reality is no-and it never will. The U.S. only exports such technologies after they’ve been used for its own defense over an extended period. Only then do they sell to other nations, including India. India is currently lacking in infrastructure and support, and is spending heavily on purchasing these expensive manned and unmanned aircraft. Instead, the focus should shift toward developing advanced technological platforms, investing in infrastructure, and leveraging significant financial resources for research and development of next-generation aerospace systems

She doesn’t understand what she is talking about. The big money is the subcomponents. They can be built reliably and to scale. The sooner you build the larger systems the sooner you will realize that you are actually losing money. You end up having to give foreign aid like the US to countries like Israel; which are super low interest loans. The other choice is just to give them away like the US does with Ukraine. India is in the “sweet” spot.

Military paid is only a fraction of US arms export. Everyone should know by now the United States does nothing for free. Beyond any military aid, Israel spends billions annually on American weapons and has a number of joint ventures with the US. The way the United States looks at the free weapons sent Ukraine is “ for less than 5% of our annual defense budget we are setting the Russian military back by 15 years”. Good investment! In addition these weapons are provided under the lend lease act which allows United States to request payment in anyway they want monetary or goods and services. I suspect once the war is over the United States will be getting a great deal on Ukrainian agriculture products.

The issue now is not of using our own weapon. India ordered for 73000 zig 716 assault rifle fron the US to exploit the new situation where there is sanction against Russia. African countries can not now buy arms from Russia. But India has a joint venture with Russia to make AK 203 assault rifle. We make for our use and also export. Not to exploit the absence of Russian arms in global market we have agreed to supply AK 203 to african nations! It is from us, not from Russia, so they have no problem. We got an order of 1,67,000 rifles ! Make in India rocks! Now to meet our domestic demand we buy 73000 rifles, ZIG 716 from the US. Whats wrong?

I am from India and regarding India's quality. India must always remember the remarkable day December 8, 2021. Indians highest priority VIP helicopter mission transporting India's most important senior commander Bipin as well as many of India's most highest ranking captains, generals, officers, chiefs, squadron leaders all onboard crashed resulting in the death of all 14 passengers. If India cannot even guarantee their most senior military officer safety during a short and simple 4 minute flight, how can they possibly accomplish anything?

bro ever cared to read any report or article to the end or just gonna go spreading fake news only by the title? the munitions which exploded were american munitions made in 1950's , india had it from that long ago , israel asked for ammo we gave what we had in storage after we ran out of the new ones . not only india but many countries supplied these kinds of old ammo including us . p.s- no one died from any indian made or indian exported goods , atleast not on the israeli side.
