I think this project has been canceled. Currently no one wants to build a building taller than 70-80 floors because of Airport Authority of India since whenever a building crosses 80 floors the AAI files a case in the court stating danger to the flight routes. There are multiple NGO's as well that file cases against builders citing environmental concerns. Most of the times these NGO's are proxy companies that are used by rival and competing builders to stop each others projects from being completed.

Technically these buildings do not really sell either. I don't really see the point of building 'the tallest building on earth'. What's supposed to be its function? Will it house people? Will people be able to afford it? I guess that is one of the many reasons China is slowly veering off from supertalls since they do not provide the needed returns.
@nirupamakumar39174 жыл бұрын
@@TacticalMetalJoegaming yh Chinese government has made it harder to build skyscrapers. Most high rises in China were just built for the real estate value to make quick profit, that's why there are so many ugly ghost cities. The Shanghai tower was the second tallest building in the world but was a complete failure because its design itself dettered people from wanting to buy office space there.

If u ask me, supertalls should be avoided nowadays. Not a very good investment. Instead, land should be used for entertainment/ industrial purpose to make the region commercially viable.

This reminds me, around 2003-4, a crazy greater Noida administrator called Devdutt Sharma once announced the tallest skyscraper (110 storeys) in India with the unique feature that 30-40 additional storeys could be raised, should there be requirement !! Hafeez Contractor was roped in to design this unique concept. Ofcourse nothing was heard after the announcement.
