Great interview Palki with the Indian Economist. Growrh is essential to Economic progress similar to Chinas economic boom turning to economic stagnation. My question is how would increase in energy prices also with the escalation of war could energy supplies be affected. God forbid. Keep up the good work Palki.

You are not thinking in the right way Sir. Thanks to our forefathers they bring 7-8 children on average at that period of time. Imagine from mughal to all invasion & conversion, our population would have been shrinked. Two, Bharat & China historically were the most populous nations from the beginning. Take Mahabharat war for instance how much were involved in that war alone.

@32:55, MIVI electronics is leading the way for manufacturing in India. They're bootstrapped, profitable and sustainable. Unlike BoAt, they don't assemble components in India, they manufacture here in Hyderabad. They've spent significant time in learning technical know how in China about manufacturing. They don't want to scale profits via pure Marketing like BoAt. MIVI is playing a long term game. It's building Bharat!

Have you ever seen such a hot weather just few years back? Hot weather means more water for crops and we don't have water.. do not expect rains to be this generous every year. Not the jobs which we Indians should be worried about. It's the upcoming food crisis due to over population and climate change. India has failed to implement one child policy in 1950 & thus became most water stressed country in the world, underground water is going critically low . All government gave free current for agriculture and people over utilised underground water with bores. . most of the crops like rice wheat cotton maize are a burden to nation along with food exports, beef exports , producing ethanol with rice etc, huge crop wastage due to poor logistics and storage which only add to the problem. Millions of cattle & humans might just die. When people can't even afford basic needs, most of the sectors will go bankrupt. Automation is speeding like never before. I expect 50% of jobs will be lost just by 2031. No one can stop automation , if you try to stop , you are outdated . The top 0.5% of Indians will be the richest in the world by 2040. 90% of Indians will be poor due to huge debts made for agricultural educational and business purposes ( all are going to fail)

I still remember one mark question in 3rd standard -- What is the population of India .. That was 1975 -- It was 70 crores then .. Today it is doubled .. How come ?. Why population control measures which were vibrant in 1960s. 1970s dwindled after 1980s.. What stopped government establishment to think Population will find its own balance .. Damage is done now .. Any improvement is sucked by this burgeoning population within days .. Generation of 50 crore jobs is also less .. CHAOS and CORRUPTION is the natural outcome which we are seeing now

Funny fact: Modernisation of police forces scheme existed since 1969 and the Bureau of Police Research and Development existed since 1970, but the Indian police forces are still primitive. On a serious note, India seriously needs to bring about massive reforms and modernisation of the police forces and build a force that a real emerging superpower must have. Looking at the current state of the police forces, bragging that India is a future superpower is so laughable. If the police are not fixed as fast as possible, movements to abolish the police may rise. Watch and learn from UAE police how a modern police force should be like.

If a person really interested in doing work and earn money, he will definitely get work to do in India. He can start from very lower level and can reach very high. There are ample of examples where in people have achieved their targets. And moreover India is very famous for its "JUGAD" technics. But if you are waiting for government jobs where you do nothing and get salaries and earn money through corrupt practices, it is very difficult. Moreover because various governments in India have given direct fish to a class instead of teaching them how to fish, no body is working that seriously.

Reduce and streamline taxes. Different gst rates, central taxes, excise duties and tarrifs. It’s killing Indian economy. The tax is very heavy for product exchanging hands. The key issue hereis to stress in one key determinant. We have come a long way from those times when we desired , aimed for and attempted virtually nothing worthwhile. In the last 20 years pr so we have actually got our act i.e. ambition and moral resolve. The issue is whether we have the steel in us to stick to the 8 % or 7 % 6 % growth target and make it a spiritual mission. Battles are fought in the mental and psychological plane. .For that to happen we need political purpose and social aggregation in the in the prposed national mission.

Job crisis is real not just for white collars but blue collars as well....e.g driverless cars can take away crores of jobs, delivery, manufacturing, Service industry.....you name it, everywhere automations have paced like he'll at the advent of AI. There is a conscious push for more tax like Carbon Tax, middle class trap is real. All the past data nature has changed its nature in this new era of 5th industrial revolution specially at the advent of AI. World is moving towards one world govt and IMF is making sure of it.

It is important to differentiate between unemployability and unemployment. The so called qualified youth remaining unemployed is largely because of mismatch between the on the job skill set requirement and what is readily available to the employers. Industries do not or cannot bridge this gap. There are plenty of self employable jobs available at the mundane level, but requiring only a minimal but good regimented training to do these chores efficiently. Good automobile mechanic is a case in point. This gap area is left unaddressed. Our education system, though lip level service is paid, is far from capable of producing robust, employable youth. On paper over qualified youth are plenty; but truly lacking in merit. Take a sample of young lawyers and doctors in rural India. In all, depoliticalization and diversification of education at all levels, avenues for continuous skill updating, and continuous investment on the part of government to open up fresh start ups, instead of feeding less efficient behemoths, cutting freebees etc are needed.

It will never become a mfg powerhouse like Vietnam/Cambodia/Malaysia let alone China. The only real competitive part of society is the top 150 Mill plugged into the global value chains, mainly in services. We have a billion people with skill sets/health/education of sub saharan africa. No talk of how to make them productive. This man thinks that India's competitors in Asia and beyond will just wait and watch on sidelines. All talk and BS.

Too many estimations , too many %s. Where does corruption fits in the entire calculation ?. Which economic chapter explains one time MLA has potential to make Rs 100 crore wealth minimum ?. Look at JAPAN , 1945 devastated with 2 bombs -- by 1969 they are economically force to reckon with at world scale .. Natural calamities are too many in JAPAN .. India being relatively safe country from calamity point of view , why India is not doing great ?. Answer is in our political system which sucks .. Policy paralysis , reservation for undeserving people , killing of merits at the 12th grade itself .. Today brilliant student knows at 12th standard itself , it is futile to work hard as prosperity in India is NOT linked to efforts .. It is linked to birth caste, and political influence -- That is why a Industrial area is also has reservation component .. I am old .. might die before disaster hit INDIA .. but it will sure HIT one day .. As Krishna says in GEETHA, destruction is required for construction .. India is Gone case as of today .. No economic experts / IIT scholars can bailout India..
