I also got a good stratergy, i play aoe3 complete collection. At first age upgrade, I use karni mata near gold mine or near gold mine+many trees, send all villagers who were gathering from any gold mine towards gold mine near karni mata and all villagers who were gathering wood towards trees near karni mata or i just get 2 mango forests shipment from city and put them near karni mata for fast gathering resources. At second age upgrade, i get tower of victory and at 3rd age upgrade, Taj Mahal. While attacking someone, i get troops near their base. When i find enemy troops, i cease fire (with help of taj mahal), make my troops go middle of enemies base. When cease fire ends, i stop my troops from moving and then use tower of victory and the attack is boosted. This is a very good stratergy

btw I lost 11 games in a row vs japan. Someone somewhere came up with the perfect opening and its now impossible to win vs japan. 35 musketeers + 25 infantry units AND age III under 9 minutes sooo anoying. You know what units they will have, you produce counter units but its pointless, the sheer number makes it impossible to overcome. Now when I see my opponent plays japan, I auto-resign

Record? Also depends on your civ. Some civs just better others early. A rush civ will obviously better a treaty type civ.

You need to pressure Japan relentlessly. Keep them in their base, and take down any shrines scattered across the map. Try to beat them to fortress and crush them with your urumi and mahout shipments.
