Because the western world specifically the USA wants to use India as a proxy against China and more importantly to create an atmosphere of war. I hope this does not occur, because it will be bad for all concerned in the region.

India’s recent move away from the Global South to support U.S. Hegemony and militarization of the Indo-Pacific is dramatic even though as noted here, we have seen this building for some time. But what’s very disturbing is India's apparent move to oppress economic development, and expansion of the BRICS nations. India might not like China, but it is CHINA that's giving something to the Global South empowering millions and improving the quality of their lives. At this moment in world history only China has proven a reliable partner treating countries and their people with respect and equality. India has given nothing to the very people it believes it should have some leadership role with. With India's economic model failing, India like the U.S. and NATO countries is falling back on aggressive militarization of the region and balancing China for its failures. There is a saying that some countries who experienced severe White Colonial occupation, oppression, and atrocities such as England did to the Indian people, that years later that the oppressed nation would take on the same characteristics as its occupier. Are we now seeing this with India in its actions against the people of the Global South and inability to diplomatically solve their problems with China?

Good analysis, Dr. Sawhney as always. The whole Indo-Pacific strategy of the US is a disaster for India. It looks like at least a couple of trillion dollars for all that preparation, equipment buying, training, and getting a trade hit with China; a disastrous proposition for India. Mr. Jaishankar has trapped himself and the future of India in a very expensive proposition that has no way out. I don't know what the policymakers in Delhi eat or think; they seem very incompetent since the head of affairs, Mr. Modi, is a self-centred and incapable man who can't think beyond the next election. The quote from the former Indian Admiral shows his lack of understanding of the Chinese Cyber, Space and AI power that will destroy the Indian navy without even letting them know what has happened. The way Russian EW Jammer Mig. 25 did to AIEGES Naval Ship in the Black Sea in 2018 should be enough to warn the Indian navy and its Air Defence system in a hot zone, which means the Chinese may take the Indian navy as sitting ducks. It's embarrassing to see Indian leadership, carrier diplomats and politicians pledging India's future, its people's prosperity, and peace of mind in American hands; what a pity. But I think the fundamental problem, people in the policy-making circles don't say what they need to say because Mr. Modi is a self-centred man with narcissistic tendencies; people are afraid of doing their best for India because they don't want to ruin their careers and serve sentences on false charges. Until the culture in Delhi changes, India's problems in international relations, the geo-political domain, economic growth, and social uplift will only multiply. Mr. Jaishankar and Mr. Doval need to retrain to behave in a multipolar world; instead of trying to punch above its weight, India should mend its ties with China to have a peaceful border in the Himalayas in the Indo-Pacific regions and improve trade and technology transfer from the Chinese. India can't afford a confrontation with China; it's not sane, and it's not a winning game for India. Moreover, it would cost India more time to improve jobs, infrastructure, manufacturing, and technology development and provide better healthcare to its people. All these are doable by avoiding further confrontation with China and getting out of the US trap.

In my teens I studied British India for history and felt the injustice where the Indians were manipulated by the ‘divide and rule’ policy practised by the British on the Indian Hindus and Indian Muslim that led to many bloodsheds. Now in my old age I see her being manipulated again this time against another country. Am really sad, war and aggression only brings death, pain and destruction-no one wins. I agree India historically has been a great trading country not a good warring country. Now messing with China for no reason, they are averted from the real battle in the north and are planning to impact China in the south of India and choke points. China does not want anything to do with India. Even the 1962 war it was only intended as lesson to India for them to realize their own power. For long India has been seeking Veto power in Nato and this pursue of long term dream will be India undoing. If China attacks India, USA will do nothing, and all progress India made will be lost. I see it as a win, as couple of Nations will emerge from India, Free Kashmir, Khalistan and Assam may be couple more due to domino effect. As Pakistan is a reality and now India is a reality as well as India is digging its own grave.

Agree but that was past. Nehru wanted to develop India ignoring Defense. 1962 and 1965 changed India. Indira developed Army resulting stunning victory in 1971. Somehow after fall of USSR, Indian defense became weak. Even Modi also ignored for few years. Uri, Pulwama changed Modi's mind. It is good that US has cornered China giving some space for India to catch up... China cannot think of attacking India now

This man as knowledgeable as he is - is a typical embodiment of the old Indian leadership mindset. Sit on the fence so no one bothers you. He is also overlooking the fact that India does not have the power or capacity to be the third super power needing no alliance. Even in ancient times, power of a nation rested within alliances. If he thinks Chinese will invade India as a preemptive strike in their favour dislodging the Indian attempts to choke their business, causing India to lose grounds and suffering a paralysing blow, wouldn't the American's lose as well and all this planning to weaken Chinese influence go up in smoke? Sure the US is using India to fill that gap it can't in the Indo Pacific by itself but that is what pragmatism is all about.

Firstly I am not sure if this is a fake account from a Pakistani or a genuine one. But considering it is a genuine one here is my answer - There is no entity as Hindu sena. It is Indian army and Sikhs have been integral part of it and have led from front. If God forbid there is another war, I am 100% sure Sikhs will again display the same valor they displayed in previous wars. A few disgruntled people like you will not make any difference.
