This was exactly my problem. Kohli and Rohit or one of them should gracefully exit from at least T20. They have played for so long. Rinku is a scapegoat, Ritu is a scapegoat. What happened to T Natarajan? Gill should not be there, Arshdeep should not be there, Siraj should not be there... We have three medium pacers with Hardik/Boom/Nattu .. Samson can open with Jaiswal or even Kohli. Siraj, Arshdeep, Chahal are not needed..Chahal is a duplicate selection.. Even with all this mad selection ...one change Nattu for Siraj would at least give a balance.

Post 2022 T20 WC debacle, BCCI gave indications of looking ahead with young team for T20. All of a sudden they took a u-turn and went back to many of the same super star players. Unfortunately players like Ruturaj, Rinku Singh, Tilak Verma find themselves ignored which is unfortunate. Hope our superstar players will walk the talk unlike 2022. Tilak Verma offers more solidity, consistency at a good strike rate unlike SKY.

I am totally fine with the overall selection except picking up siraj and not including Rinku! But I do trust the selection and will back that decision too. I believe this is definitely a strong batting unit. Bowling is fine except Siraj. I would like Nattu in his place. But all said and done, my weight is behind the selection decision and look forward to those selected performing well in rest of IPL. Not everyone is going to be happy with any selection decision. But what matters is Team India and we backing those selected!

My playing 11: Rohit Pant Virat Dube Surya Hardhik Jaddu Axar Kuldeep Bumrah Arshadeep Batting scope: 1. 8 batting options 2. Left and right opening pairs - to nullify left arm pacers upfront 3. It's not the same pant who starts going right from ball 1. Opening he has done in past and brutal in middle overs if he settles down 4. (3 & 4) Quality spin hitters during middle 5. In my POV Surya should walk in after 12th over. So during the death he can exploit pacers with his unorthodox skills 6. Both jaddu and axar can also be used as a floater if early wickets fall . Bowling scope: 1. 3 pacers and 3 spinners and 1 part time option 2. Sticking with same approach 2+2 bumrah and arshadeep at top and at the end 8 overs sorted 3. Axar and hardhik can give you overs in powerplay 4. Tightening the opponents on a spin choke with axar, jaddu and kuldeep 5. Hardhik will be a floater bowler as an when needed. 6. Dube slower pace can be useful in large dimension grounds Drawbacks: 1.Playing 2 left armers can backfire if leftie power hitters are set in the middle overs but that community is less in world cricket - like Nicky P 2. Assuming the conditions the track in Windies might be Turner going with spin heavy side. My thoughts on selection: 1. Missing out on nattu left arm who controls during middle and death along with bumrah might be nightmare. I would have tempted to select nattu over Siraj.

If the pitch report said used or slow pitch, SKY would be a single digit. And he won't rebuild the situation if India lost early wickets. Pant is no need if Rinku, Dube, hardik and jadeja are available in finishing. But no one can replace KLR in anchor roll if India lost early wickets. He can play in all conditions and can play as per situation...

Hardik Jadeja Axar adds more strength to finishing, if you want to strengthen bowling remove Axar or Jadeja to add Siraj or Chahal. No place for Pant in my side with this form or quality.

They are clearly struggling to score runs. Siraj in T20 is the biggest flop, why dropped Natarajan? Arshdeep Singh, crap at the death. My hearty condolences to the chances of this team. I have been watching your shows for past 2-3 years from ashwin sir's channel. I think India missed a trick by not picking Rinku Singh ahead of Dube and rest of the squad seems to be good. I accept Rutu is a miss but to be honest I would say he is unlucky cause you can't leave out jaiswal and pick rutu ahead of him and please don't forget rutu got injured many times after Aus T20 series. The only big miss in the squad is Rinku for rest all pick is good considering the condition to be on slower and spinning track.

The biggest miss of all is Rinku Singh which is unfortunate considering that Rohit & Ajit said that most of the team was selected prior to IPL. In this case Rinku’s tremendous International record should have earned him a place automatically. If it was one of Dube or Rinku then Dube’s IPL record this season has gone in his favor and the Selectors & Captain are hoping that if required Dube could bowl.

Ii think the selectors want a bowler who uses the wickets who is the hit the deck bowlers in consideration if you dont take wickets in powerplay its very difficult to stop runs so his selection is justified but axar instead of rinku there and chahal instead nattu and in reserves khalel who strike in poweplay avesh who uses pitch so they dont believe in stopping runs in death and bumbra has 2 overs so they think to manage with arsdeep promising death bowler and siraj who can bowl yorkets

Pdogg sir The point to note is Sky is not at his prime form. Jaiswal -240 runs,gill-320runs,rutu-509 at 10 ing at what basis jaiswal been selected and rutu rejected and gill been in reserve. Natu should be there where death over can be strong. Rinku avg in intl is 76.
