India's External Affairs Minister spoke on the Russian diamond ban by the EU and G7. S. Jaishankar said that India is seeking to block the Russian diamond ban by the West. He said New Delhi is trying to “delay or prevent” the embargo imposed last month. Jaishankar stated that the Russian diamond ban by the EU and G7 is hurting India. Jaishankar stated this while visiting the Indian diamond processing hub of Surat. Led by Surat, the Indian diamond industry polishes 9 out of 10 stones mined globally.
