Hey, very late for the comment but I had one question would really appreciate if you could answer. So I am travelling to japan through Vietjet only with a layover of around 10 hour in Hanoi, so i wanted to know whether I will receive my luggage directly in Tokyo or do i need to get my luggage at Hanoi & recheck in again and repeat all the process. My Second question is do i need a transit visa in case my luggage is directly transferred and i will get it in Tokyo. Hope you could answer. Thank you!

Hi! Though we didn’t check in luggage but we do remember the airline staff telling us that we need to collect our luggage in Hanoi and again check in for flight to Tokyo. But you can confirm from the staff in India. You don’t need a transit visa if you are not getting out in Hanoi however since you have a 10 hour layover we recommend taking an evisa to explore Hanoi a bit, it’s an easy online process and you get visa in 3 working days. Hello! We didn't use our Indian debit card there although according to us you can find ATMs in 7 eleven which might accept international cards. For debit card mostly they accept visa/master card and based on our research they charge around 4 USD plus we think your bank will also charge. Before going to turn on international usage for your card and also inform your bank about it. Make sure you have cash for your Japan trip as most of the places only accept cash. You will find Smart exchange machine at the airport and Tokyo station, we have also shared few other places in this video, from where you can exchange dollar/euro... Hope this helps! Also, we didn't buy round trip instead we searched separately and booked them. From May to September you can get cheaper flights, not currently... as it is peak season there! The bag that you do not carry in the plane is check in baggage, that you give at the time you collect boarding pass... Vietjet will charge if it weighs more than that. Our advice is to carry light luggage which you can take as cabin luggage, which will be free of charge... This is what we do!

They just check if you have submitted all the necessary documents (which we have mentioned in the video). If something is missing, they will let you know so you can arrange there. Apart from this they don't ask anything else. Just make sure you carry all the documents we have mentioned in the video. Also check VFS site for document details. Hope this helps!

It is a very safe country...infact it is the safest country we have been to and we have been to 26 countries! Few things you can keep in mind, according to our research: Avoid staying in Airbnb (as it might not be that safe, might have hidden cameras), book hotels instead... A 5 star hotel in Tokyo would be very expensive and a 3-4 star hotel would have a small room especially in Tokyo. In Kyoto, you might find better options. According to us they should as the connecting flight will also be Vietjet. However we didn’t check in any luggage as it has extra charges 🙈 Whatever the case is the staff will inform you the same when you are checking in for the first flight and collecting your boarding pass.
