The biggest blunder was, not taking small strip of land in tripura bangladesh border to connect Bay of bengal And not to take extra land in chicken neck corridor Siliguri. Both were the weak point of India till date, British knowingly partitioned that way, trying to give Pakistan edge And indian great some so called freedom fighters politician agreed to it

Will India allow Bangladesh to construct BD-Doklam Rail Route ? If not, why BD will allow India to do this which will be used for military equipment's transportation to bypass Chicken neck ? BD is a country of180 m people and is the 2nd largest economy ($459 bn 2022, reasonably higher than Pakistan) in this south Asia region. So not small country at all as Indians think and regime's existence is not infinite. Everything to be changed with regime changes.

Siliguri is already connected to bangladesh via rail network. Mitali express . Twice a week. Between new jalpaiguri and dhaka. I think they will introduce new train with longer route that will go across the country and enter northeast via tripura.

In phase 2 develop 8 lane underground Bullet Trains and High Speed Freight Corridors from West Bengal to the North East .Make it a priority project . India and Bangladesh are Blood Brothers . Plan for the next 1,000 years . Similarly , all major Indian cities with Dacca and other cities in Bangladesh can be linked by High Speed rails . Similarly, increase daily Air travel passengers from present 30,000 to 300 ,000 in next 5 years . Both countries will Prosper. In 1971 India should have widen the chiken neck corridor minimum by 20 to 30 kms. towards Bangaladesh.This would have been a very much possible approach for the then government of India by making an amicable agreement with the then Bangalesh goveranance.

Not the best idea. Things are ok with a friendly govt in BD but at the wrong time, this will only make things worse. The Siliguri Corridor is about 60 km wide and that is enough for 10 rail lines and 4 separate 6-lane highways connecting the Northeast. If the govt is serious, it will transform this corridor into an army camp which is not entirely the case now. Especially because the area is fully encroached by illegal Bangladeshis.

Bangladesh exists because of India, else you would have remained East Pakistan. Your bridges, industries, hospital staff have all been trained by India. If India is so problematic, as your PM said, stop wearing our sarees, coming to Kolkata New Market to shop and most importantly, stop coming to India for medical treatment.

India should have kept the northern tail of Bangladesh during 1971 independence. This could have solved the issues such as Teesta water share and chicken's neck which could have led to the other issues such as Muslim majority state of West Bengal and Kalapani like border dispute with Bangladesh causing more hostile Bangladesh towards China.
