He scored runs on bouncy, swinging tracks of England and he was the highest run scorer in 1999 World Cup. Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid were the best ones on bouncy tracks against the fiery fast bowlers. This innings was an excellent innings as Rahul Dravid negotiated the tall West Indies bowlers without throwing away his wicket and managed to score runs at the same time. High Quality innings.

You forgot Sourav Ganguly. In 1999 world cup, he got 183 against defending champions srilanka (highest individual score by an Indian in a world cup till date), 97 against South Africa. He also got 2 MOM against England & Srilanka in his debut world cup (1999). Very handy batsman & part time bowler who took crucial wickets. He was the 3rd highest run scorer in the world cup. Even in this match, he scored 46 partnering with Dravid that stabilized the innings. The reason why Indian cricket has reached this height now is because of him and his sacrifices as captain. He too was selfless.
