First of all, get urself aware how things work in power sector 😂 India is a power surplus country when it comes to generation of power. Problems occurs only in the hot summer season because of massive increase in power demand. Govt can't additional built power plants to meet this temporary increased demand. It's financially not viable to run plants for 3-4 months & then shut down those for 8-9 months because of reduction in demand. In off season power plants usually running on 70-80% or below of thier max. capacity. Actual problem lies in power distribution system. So, exporting power has nothing to do with this.

The grid connectivity is not so much for exporting electricity but for reducing the need for storing electrical power generated from renewable sources specifically the solar power. Because of the different longitudinal positions solar power generation will vary from country to country resulting in excess power in some countries and deficits in other countries . This can be solved by having a two way flow of electricity. With wider longitudinal spread the solution will be even better.

It is an alliance, they are planning to utilise solar power when there is no sun. Transferring power when it is at peak in Saudi or some other country to another country which needs peak power which is at night/evening or whenever demand is there. .. we can have 24/7 solar power if all places which have sufficient sun light joins the alliance.

Power export/import dono hoga. Demand ke hisab se jisse zaroorat hogi woh doosri side se import karega. Aadhi story sunn kar itne dukhi hone ki zaroorat nahi 😂
