Threading the top lip lasts longer, it’s like epilating/waxing the legs as opposed to shaving. I like to thread it myself because that’s free and I can do it in the evening before going to bed and the redness is gone by the morning. But sometimes I’m lazy and shave instead. The pain when threading gets better each time you do it I think. I remember when I started plugging my eyebrows my eyes would water with every single hair that I plugged and now so many years later there’s no pain at all!

Thank you! 2 things!🙂 1. Starting with splashing with very cold water on face (maybe even add ice to it in bowl or sink if not cold enough) or ending shower with cold shower could I think be an alternative to the ice pack. And they say cold water stimulates the vagus nerve so is soothing for the nervous system. 2. I'm confused how a 2-hour tanning product gives results that last a week? The product says it just lasts 2 hours.
@janamahlich64063 жыл бұрын
Shaving makes the facial hair grow thicker and darker over time because you basically are cutting the hair and the root keeps on growing. Threading removes the root of the hair so the next hairs growing come from new roots and will be lighter and thiner. Just less visible.

Thanks for tip about using self tanner to contour face 🤩👍🏻.
@indiabatson264 жыл бұрын
it’s the best tip honestly, Bc it lasts a week 👏👏👏💛
@TheInspirefly4 жыл бұрын
On threading vs shaving the face: one reason someone may choose to thread instead of shave is that the results last longer, since you're taking it out by the root. Additionally, when you shave a hair, it gets a blunt, sharp edge and as the hair continues to grow, since you cut the hair in the middle instead of the root, the outer tip of the hair is thick and sharp, rather than the wispy tip that would grow if a new hair just came in from the root. This makes it appear darker and gives it a more prickly texture, like when your leg hair starts growing back after shaving. This may not be a problem for a lot of people, like you, India! Your hair is very fair and Caucasians tend to have much finer hair than people from other parts of the world, so the blunt tip of your hair when you shave it may not be significantly different than the wispy tip of a new hair growing in. For me, however, as a South Asian person with hair that is very dark, very thick, and stubborn, and also a lot more of it all over my body than most Caucasian women, the difference between the wispy hair growing back and the blunt tip from shaving is HUGE. My hair looks much darker if I shave it because the middle of the hair is much thicker than a natural tip, and becomes EXTREMELY prickly as it grows back. Therefore, shaving makes my hair much more conspicuous. Thankfully, my mother taught me to thread my own upper lip and chin, so not only is it free, but it doesn't hurt at all to just do it myself once a week, and even back when I started, it hurt way less to do it myself than having someone else do it. (Just have to remember to rub witch hazel against the growth direction of the hair once you are done threading to kill any bacteria and avoid acne) I hope this explanation is helpful! ☺️
@katwolf8973 жыл бұрын
I too love witch hazel for my skin!

Wax strips always irritated and caused tiny water blister zits on my upper lip. Shaving is way easier and doesn’t irritate me. I sometimes use a tiny bit of Vaseline to highlight (and moisturize). Been wiping my face with a wet wash cloth (usually no soap since I don’t usually wear makeup) and applying vanicream lotion to my wet face and neck. My skin loves it! Much less oil now that my face is properly moisturized. Vaseline is great under my eyes and anywhere else that needs more moisture retention.

Tweezing of threading hair helps to remove the whole hair and also the hairfollicle. If you do this regularly, there is less hair that grows back because the hairfollicle is removed (which means there will never be growing a hair back)! So in the longterm it is (just as waxing of laser) amazing! But painfulll, and takes a while before there will never be growing a hair back but I think it’s worth it!

They’re usually more like a serum moisturiser so you don’t wash it off. But check the instructions for each.
