Sankar was a good and visionary director, but never a good writer. Sujatha was the mastermind behind the successes of most Sankar films. His passing away is Sankar's biggest loss. The last good movie that Sankar gave was Endhiran, (if we don't count Nanban, which was decent on its own, but a downgrade from 3 idiots) and its also the last movie co-wrote by Sujatha.

Indian 2 is definitely not on par with other shankar's vigilante films and some portions are outdated too. But it has shankar's trademark scenes here and there. The initial sequence involving jagan, the political sarcasm involving the cartoon with guru somasundaram voice over, name of the govt officials and the aerial shot when senapathi takes a selfie with nethaji will show beer bottles near the statue. Also, the message that people have got used to the corruption and are unwilling to change was conveyed very well. Anirudh music and songs a big letdown. Makeup was also inconsistent and gave a feel of dasavatharam 2 and not indian 2 on many occasions. Indian 3 seems to be a better product atleast going by the glimpse shown in the end.

Only if you have 100% tolerance you can watch this film, the screenplay is very cliche, and at many places the movie is boring or gives us a cringe feeling, that too many scenes are too long which tests your patience, Goundamani Sir comedy, ARR music are a big miss, acting also there is no big scope for Kamal Sir

Karthi is the most genuine reviewer. I like is review about the movie. Just my thought about people’s comments about the movie , this is a below average movie, I totally agree and it has overcome lots of struggle to get released. What more absurd is now everyone just started saying stuff which means like Shankar success or skills have got improved only bcoz of Sujatha, that’s bullshit. Sujatha and Shankar collaboration have worked so well bcoz of their chemistry. Shankar is individually talented director downgrading him for few bad movies it’s stupid. so much of unhealthy criticism, hate and negativity is social media is spreading like a cancer. It is very dangerous. we stopped enjoying small things and started scrutunizing.

Movie is good to watch the second time, because first timr, it looks boring , because there are no punch dialogues etc, goose bumps etc. Secomd time , you understand the movie well, because your expectations of superhit movie is gone, but you watch the movie with logic and reason.

It’s been very long since we got a gd Tamil movie. For last 7 years we are watching lots goon movies, like Vikram 2, Kathi, master, Leo, Petra, kabali, and etc etc … this lokesh, pa ranjith, Nelson, Karthik subburaj etc etc etc. young directors this days are more into, vettu-kutthu and gore murder scenes. Am extremely tired of watching such repeated genre. Story based of this kind of society related movies are very rare. Infact family subject are very less. That is why Tamil audience hv jumped to Malayalam and other state movies. Telugu, Tamil and Hindi industry are going drought and bankrupt. Infact we are liking international movies these days. Korean, Japanese, French, Turkish movies are favoured. I wonder if South Indian film makers ran out of stories or failed to understand audience pulse. I revived back with maharaja movie after soooooo long. Indian 2 isn’t bad. No matter wat, I love shankar movie. My all time fav directors are balachander, balumahendra, maniretnam and shankar. No matter how the movie is, it will be liked by audience. Because they are legendary directors and prodigy movie makers. Although Indian 2 was not to our expectations and beyond reality, I am contented with the movie. At least there isn’t the over-used gangster and gory fight scenes we are watching for almost a decade. In the name dark comedy lots of useless movie hv spoilt our Tamil industry
