You spoke my mind, wouldn't say disappointed but feels weird. He's supposed to be more grounded. Tom and jerry aatam dialogue sounded weird but to think about it made sense. The cartoon started in 1940s and a lil different then saying the usual cat and mouse game. Makeup seems a letdown and in a lot of scenes can see a lot of CGI work on the face using body double (maybe Kamal couldn't apply make up like he used to with age). Indian 1 his makeup was so perfectly real as a 70-year-old (RIP Micheal Westmore).

Bro, first of all, thanks for speaking your heart. It is a very honest reaction. I had this disconnected feel right from the time the teaser released. As said, it is a purely commercialized version. Shankar is really handicapped by the absence of Writer Sujatha Sir. Music was purely template stuff. Nothing unique. I am surprised how come someone from Shankar is able to compromise with this kind of stuff, given the track record he has. I still remember, ARR mentioning that it is difficult to convince Shankar. But I have my own doubts now.... Not to compare, but I felt that Kamal Sir' prosthetic makeup was far better in Kalki....Moreover, this kind of stuff ( corruption, politics....a) has already become an overdose. Things will really workout only if your treatment of this content is really unique. Let us hope the movie works out well at the Box Office. I also have doubts on the Production House as such. The reason is purely due to the kind of movies they produce off late. PS1 was an exception, by PS2 was...no comments...

@mr_earphones I completely agree, however, I believe Shankar is more powerful executing the vigilante theme. The trailer has actually made it simpler for Shankar by lowering expectations, and if there are solid plot twists with an engaging screenplay, this might work well with Kamal's acting prowess. The high point of the trailer is when Kamal adorns the INA costume and delivers the Bose path dialogue just re-emphasises that if edited well this movie can have an impact. It is a very mixed opinion at least for 90s kids seeing Indian - 1/ Jeans/ Mudhalvan/ I / Anniyan trailers this comes nowhere close to the hype those trailers created.
