2000 years back Jews came to kerala and settled here.( Trading routes). some of them married here and stayed back. Most of them during St. Tomas visit converted to Christianity ( That's why kerala is having a high christian population compared to other states- still minority). But during the British and Portuguese era they forced Hindus too by making laws. And they killed the local Christians too for not converting to Catholics. ( Bishop was drowned in the sea). If you are now a Hindu, then you were converted when you were a child or in your adulthood. Substitute "Hindu" in what I have written with the name of any other religion, cult or atheistic/ agnostic belief system and this truism would still be true. So what's the big deal? We were not all born to religious or atheistic belief. Some of us, like me, choose our belief in adulthood. Others are socialised, forced or arm-twisted into holding a religious belief or lack of it.
