Indian Dance Makeup Series Part 1: Face | (Full Products and Techniques)

In this video you'll get to know two methods of doing the base makeup or the blank face makeup with in-depth techniques and specific products.
I would like to state here that Indian classical dancing is sacred to me, and in no way am I doing this to take advantage or exploit the art of Indian classical dance makeup, nor am I doing this to disrespect the art form in any way, shape or form. If you are a dance purist reading this, let me tell you I value and love the art like I love God. I am treating this video as respectfully as I can and I do hope that no offense is taken
I don't presume to know everything about Indian classical dance makeup but I am parting with my fair share of knowledge from both, a freelance makeup artist point of view and, techniques accumulated by someone who has performed Indian classical dance in the past and whose makeup has received approval and even admiration from three teachers/gurus I have trained under.

I knw the manufacturer they manufacturs it in kolkata, west bengal if you want you can collect it from his residence or from godown they also provide courier service. u can't find it online but in local stores( if this particular brand isn't available at ur place u can also use gopinath, kosmik, Olivia mostly they manufacturs in west bengal but u can find one of this brand) if I'm not wrong u can find it on southern part of India specially in local stores of chennai Mi-fi ka manufacturer kolkata (west bengal) me hai....unka wap no hai mere paas agar koi kolkata yah phir nearby kahin rehte hai toh woh unke residence yah phir godown se collect krskte h. Bhut sare local stores pe v aapko mil skta hai(yeh nhi v Mila toh dusra company ka panstick, pancake mil skta h like gopinath, kosmik, Olivia) yeh southern part of India specially Chennai me v bhut stores pe available hai

Oh thank you so much Yasmin! I'm not surprised you haven't seen or heard about that foundation before. It is usually only known among Indian classical dancers. It is not difficult to find but you need to know where. I don't suggest using it because it's very heavy and unnatural. Very thick, cakey and unforgiving. Only good for stage makeup....

@@Hdaran i hv the same product from this line ,,,i don't knw whether u know this or not i saw ppl using this on weddings also , i saw one of my friend using a pancake only as her base on fresher on high school and guess what it stays the whole day!!!! Many parlours(expensive/non-expensive) of Bangladesh, Pakistan used this kind of made in india panstick and pancake as base makeup,,,,,u really need to knw how much quantity is required...and some kind of techniques they mix it with liquid kind of foundations(not the ordinary foundations which we normally used) and then set it with pancake and loose powder (again not the ordinary translucent powder) and it looks amazing...as i hv pcod and i sweat alot in public transports ...one day i was going somewhere i just applied pancake n it's lasts all day LOnG!!!!! U just simply spread panstick wd the help of ur fingers( a little goes a longgggg way ) wet the sponge & den spread as u shown in ur video but somehow i feel u used actually too much panstick (or may be that's how stage makeup done) but saw on theatres the makeup dadas( MUA) use a very little amount of pancake using their fingers if required built it up ..... Hi, I tried applying a layer of panstick and then a layer of pancake over it but the pancake just removed the panstick applied underneath. Is there a way to avoid this from happening while using both?

You need to make sure your sponge used for pancake is wet. This has happened to me where, because the pancake wasn't wet enough, it did the same thing. Not only that, you need to pick up enough pancake on your sponge. Really saturate your sponge with the pancake. Don't be frugal with it. Hope this helps!

Hey Thangam. There are actually so many good products but difficult to recommend because not everyone can purchase or find it. But I recommend Maybelline because it has some good red lipsticks and also liner. Most Maybelline liners are good too. For liner just make sure you use waterproof. Hope this helps.

Very kind words. Thank you so much! :) :) :) About the skin tone, it's because the orginal product as in the panc-cake has VERY limited shades and not really suited to darker skin tones. I would suggest using newer foundation brands that have suitable skin tones if you would like to match tones correctly...

It is! I have used the Olivia one before and that tends to dry out faster than the Mi-Fi. So perhaps use a wetter sponge? Thanks for your query. Love your profile pic!

It's manufacturs in kolkata (west bengal) I have the owner's wap no (may be one of the partner) I asked him about his product he told me to collect it from his resident or from godown . If u live in kolkata or near by u will find it in stores (not sure about this brand but will find another brands also) if I'm not wrong it's also available in Chennai
