India should actively research tiltrotor technology and operations in both defence and commercial paradigms. This is the crown jewel of dual use trchnology : a platform that can be used both in peacetime and wartime with fast turnaround times between both application scenarios. Add to that the need for smaller airports, better networking, faster point to point connectivity, and large fleet requirement, the investment into R&D would translate into many fold returns as well as plug this huge gap in connectivity between our metro cities and tier 2 cities. Times are changing. We need to enable new technologies to empower the next generation. How long will they remain slaves to colonial interests and keep flocking to our 10 metros for any and all kinds of opportunities ?

One week back MK2 is stuck because of engine agreement. Now we got timeline of 2026 for MK2. Does that mean we concluded engine agreement or engine is not an issue?

I think the announcement of the delay was / is a negotiating tactic with GE to show that India is willing to pursue other engine options if it comes down to it. However this announcement did not go down well with the crowd here who are getting tired of the slow progress towards delivery. Frankly it did more damage to India than helped in negotiations. All of the above is speculation on my part and may or may not be true. Perhaps the IAF demanded that Tejas MK2 have a higher indigenous content for strategic reasons.

Indian army can build a drone command center like highly monitoring area ,like they should have container ramp like structure in which more drones can launched at same time, more than ten army personal can operate the drone in same place container ramp structures can be transported in army trailer and can be deployed in any threat region, the monitoring person can have the monitoring screen in there own vehicle , by making steel container ramp structures drones can be operated more. India should move close to us government and should procure me-09 reaper drones for major mission purposes, heavily armed drone is much needed for Indian army

India must start designing its future fighter projects on what is available locally - AL31FP engine, even though it is heavier, they should use the knowledge and expertise gained from Kaveri project to improve and refine to make it lighter if possible, else use it as it is, at least there will be no project slippage due to unavailability of engine, finish all the projects by importing available engine and then modify the design to use previous generation engine, while continuously seeking to improve and make it better. this is a better path, than waiting for someone to handover the tech on the platter.

DRDO should develop laser guns. Missiles may prove to be too expensive. Also priority to be given to building nuclear submarines and nuclear aircraft carriers. 2 squadrons of F35 leases aircraft would give the air force confidence. Actually if Indian pilots can train on Quad F35, so that India can have lend lease agreements with Quad partners and lease them only in the event of aggression by the Chinese or Pakistan.

I don't know, but, why can't we just order 2 squadrons of Su-57? And 2030 is when Jaguars and Mirage 2000 will retire. 210 jets needed just to replace current ones. Even if you get MWF ready for Production by 2030, we will still be extending the life of unsafe jets. The MRFA is still open. So, by 2030, we will need around 324 new jets plus 12 Su-30 MKI lost in the past. I really don't know what these people are trying to achieve.

@@vaimurthy , We have our own Radars and fighter jets, I think we can test it's stealth. And it is not stealth, but sensors for BVR and BVR missiles that make it lethal. Doesn't matter if your stealth is compromised and you are 100 Km away, most missiles cannot touch you. But, if you can detect a jet 100 km away and get a lock onto it and your missile can make a hit, bingo! 100 km before engaging the enemy. Once missile is released, the fighter jet will turn in another direction and missile's range will be compromised in that situation. So, a 350 km range missile will be good enough to kill a target that is 100 km away.

@@SomeGuy-ti1ln , Yes, Su-57 is production ready. AMCA is a pipe dream. We will need 120 kN stealth engines. Something that if not far fetched, atleast a formidable challenge considering the lack of information on service providers in India. Everything is available in India, however, the challenge is to find the vendors. You cannot find suppliers by sitting in Air conditioned offices. You need to visit the markets and look for vendors. Tendering doesn't always work and sometimes, your vendors may be located in other countries as well. This is a lack of initiative from sourcing teams. They will not share their technologies with you, but, you can maintain a steady supply chain.
