we have total 16 motorways that one called M16. all motorways are connecting at least whole pakistan. M2 is the oldest and first motorway in any south asian country connecting lahore to Islamabad. M2 was completed in 1997.

It connects Islamabad Peshawar motorway to Karakuram highway to Gilgitgit Baltistan region. On way it connects Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra a region collectively called Hzara division. It has service areas on its side after every 69 km which offers everything like toilet facilities, KFC, McDonald's, gas stations. And that yellow line actually limits the road means you have to drive with those two yellow lines. Because usually motorways don't have street lights through out their course except for interchanges where you can enter or leave the motorways. For that purpose these yellow lines guide drivers to drive with the limits in the absence of light, only head lights of a vehicles are light source.
