Upnayan ceremony is also known as Janeu ceremony in hindi. Sometimes a language barrier can be very confusing. Also, in north Indian states of UP, MP, Haryana the Janeu ceremony is no longer celebrated separately and happens just before marriage in a shortcut manner. In eastern states of Bihar and Bengal however, it is as big a ceremony as marriage itself - very elaborate.

Nice video. Enjoy your stay in BD. Btw, you can address people here in BD with 'Salam'. Usually Salam is used here than Namasker since this a muslim majority country. In India it is Namaste.
@smukerji70659 ай бұрын
Salam is an arabic word.... know your roots vaia... I am a 54 year old man, lived in several countries... everywhere like in Indonesia, they have not adopted arabic or urdu culture and there is a lot to learn from them. Being an islamic nation, Indonesia still respects its cultural heritage... check out the currency of Indonesia, it has lord Ganesha on it... they are perhaps more islamic than any other .... but they respect culture... so one should never denounce their roots... when foreigners were thrown out of ukraine, pakistanis and perhaps some other nationalities called themselves Indians and were given freedom of access to bordering russia and saved.... please dont mind but salam is what we also say in India, when we meet a muslim person, but that is to make him feel good as a minority.. such is the large heart of common hindus..... i can keep writing but will not make sense if one doesnt realize their roots...
@smukerji70659 ай бұрын
My only point is by saying namaste or salam no one becomes unholy... a religion persay is never unholy, some people make it look like a mess....
@mahmudhasan93909 ай бұрын
@@smukerji7065 yes, it is not a big 'deal' how you address the people. But it is better to follow the local custom. Religion shapes culture and custom of a country to some extend. Good exemple is Indonesia. It has keept some of its hindu culture even though they have embraced Islam.

In a land of mystic tales, where ancient trees whisper secrets, Stands the Dhakeshwari, in Dhaka's heart, a temple so majestic. King Ballal Sen, in dreams so vivid, saw a goddess divine, In jungles deep, her statue slept, till found by royal design. He placed her with honor, in a temple's embrace, Dhakeshwari, they named her, "Dhaka's Goddess of Grace." A Shakti Peetha, sacred and old, where devotees seek her face, It's said a gem from Sati's crown found here its resting place. Through ages passed, the temple stood, though altered by time's trace, Its ancient style, a mystery wrapped, in history's tight-laced space. Dhakeshwari's walls have seen much change, her story's a woven lace, Of culture, faith, and time's march, in Bangladesh's embrace. The idol now, a replica stands, as memories interlace, For the original, in Kolkata rests, since India's land did brace. So, hear the whispered lore, of Dhakeshwari's space, A tale of dreams, divinity, and time's unending chase.

Wow! 😯 Your adventures in Dhaka looked incredible. If you're still exploring Bangladesh, I highly recommend taking a trip to Sylhet. It's a breathtaking city nestled amidst lush greenery and surrounded by tea gardens and rolling hills. 😍 The tranquil beauty of places like Ratargul Swamp Forest and Jaflong will leave you in awe. And don't miss out on experiencing the vibrant culture and warm hospitality of the people here. Trust me, Sylhet is a gem waiting to be discovered 😊 Safe travels, and looking forward to seeing more of your amazing journeys!
