@Neil Brown, to add to your list: Cast aluminum frame, slightly longer wheel base, weight is carried low and balanced thus the bike rides and feels lighter, Fox air adjustable monoshock, specifically designed Metzeler Cruisetec tires...

I own a 2019 Chieftain and find the adjustable windshield very useful. During a recent roadtrip, being able to lower the windshield helped with bugs distorting my view while riding back home at night from a 300 mile trip. Because of the light weight of the bike, the Challenger is my next purchase for better handling on the highway against strong crosswinds.

Great honest review Mr. Tall! Next time you visit Zippers performance, ask them how the quality of the Indian motor compares to the stock M8. On your124 build ,Zipper's noted some parts and problems with your low mileage motor that they made you aware of. Harley Davidson should have offered their liquid cooled Vrod engine on other models instead of discontinuing it since it was one of their best motors.

certainly a nice looking bike... but indian needs more customization options. (this is a big part of owning a harley... the ability to make it unlike everyone elses)

There is no denying Harley's vast superiority in aftermarket availability. It is aggravating trying to find the things you want for metrics if even made at all.

Great video bro, I know u are a true HD guy. But you really gave real props to the Indian. The locking bags are awesome! With HD you gotta get a CVO just to get that, and still not have an adjustable windscreen. I must say Indian is making some great machines, and for a competitive price point. Be safe bro ,peace.

Brother Tall, excellent video and content as usual....really like the location. That Challenger is refined. I agree with you regarding the plastic control housings and passenger floorboards, but the locking fuel cap and hard-bags are outstanding-checkmate! But the price for these bikes nowadays (Harley included) is through the roof. Another very important question for me would be: For a 3-year period, what are the expected maintenance costs for a comparable Harley & Indian ridden the same mileage. Blessings to you. Be well.

The metzler's it comes with is a pretty big deal. Almost all bikes come from the factory with garbage tires or with decent tires but made cheaply with way less tread depth or just overall crappier construction IE made in a lesser facility.

Agreed with much of what you said Tall. For me too much plastic. Paint doesn’t hold a candle to Harley’s. The engine, LED and info tech is where we all want OEM bikes to be in this price range. This bike will evolve into an even better beast. Indian will get in it.

For real? That’s what does it for you is plastic underneath the chrome vs cheap cast metal? That ruins a better handling, smoother riding, harder accelerating, better stereo having, power windscreen, better infotainment system having bike for you? People digging deep to justify what they got for their 30k vs Indian. “Yeah I don’t like the license plate bracket bolts, they just look cheap to me, I’m sticking with HD” SMH!

Anyone that has had a power windshield on a bike knows how great they are for blocking what mother nature throws at you. I have one on my Trophy SE its truly awesome, get a little warm lower it down, when it pours down you put it up and barely get wet. Harley has some major catching up to do with this bike, at a time when they have crappy sales.

I Did a demo ride in Daytona on the challenger, overall the bike was nice and had a ton of torque vs my ultra. However for the money it seemed cheaper made than my Harley and i got some vibration in the handlebars that made it feel like i was riding a dirt bike. Overall i liked the bike, just not enough to justify trading my ultra limited.

I almost didn’t even look at this. I’m a little surprised you said anything negative about the Challenger. As Polaris loaned you the bike, you would be like most others and just gush over it so you would receive more in the future. I’m waiting to see an honest review.

Not sure if you mean exhaust sound or valve train sound? Valve train is definitely louder and different than most American V-twins including Indians 111/116’s It’s overhead cams so it sounds different, but it’s not silent that’s for sure.
